Continuing with one of the most relatable 2023 anime for me, Tomo-chan’s struggles are not only hilarious but also hit close to home for any tomboy. I’ve had plenty of experiences where my childhood friends or crushes didn’t see me as anything more than one of the guys, and it can be really frustrating.
But Tomo’s story gave me hope. She’s so persistent and determined, and she never gives up on her feelings for Jun. She also learns to accept herself for who she is, even though Jun doesn’t see her in the way she wants him to.
I think Tomo-chan is a Girl! is a great reminder that it’s important to be true to yourself. In other words, you don’t have to change who you are to be loved and accepted. And sometimes, the person you’re in love with will eventually see you for who you really are.
