Log Horizon is not a perfect series, but it is not your typical series either. The series plot takes the path of realism, diverse characters, and a not-so-typical MMORPG protagonist in a world of fantasy that is genuinely exciting to watch.
The basic premise centers around a group of players who get stuck in an online massive multiplayer role-playing game by some yet-to-be-explained phenomenon. We watch them adapt and try to figure out what happened.
6.
KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!

- Episodes: 10
- Studios: Studio Deen
- Aired: Jan 14, 2016 to Mar 17, 2016
- Genres: Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Parody, Supernatural
One of my favorites, KonoSuba, it’s a series with silly comedy, anti-harem, and anti-OP main character themes that were a breath of fresh air. It is a series where you can leave your brain at the front door and just enjoy whatever is thrown at you. It also has a lot of rewatch value!
The story focuses on Kazuma Satou who dies a laughable and pathetic death on his way back from buying a game, in the most unheroic way at that. When he reawakens in the afterlife, Kazuma is given two choices: go to heaven or defeat the Demon King. Being every gamer’s dream to be in a real fantasy world, he goes with the latter, taking the goddess Aqua with him. But it turns out living in such a world is far different from how it plays out in a game.
5.

Everyone loves a feel-good underdog story. Well, here’s a magic anime one for you, Black Clover also comes with humor and heartwarming moments. Though the main character yelling can be a bit too much and the first few episodes don’t really start off well.
Two orphan children, Asta and Yuno are left as babies near the doorstep of a church on the outside border of the Clover Kingdom. The story follows Asta mostly, a young boy who’s born without magical powers, while he tries to gain magical powers and the talent to control them. We watch him go from laughingstock to the literal savior of the kingdom.

In our top 25 best magic anime of all time is a classic Cardcaptor Sakura, an anime that breathed new life into the magic genre and anime as a whole. With its entertaining and sometimes thought-provoking plots.
The premise itself is fairly typical for a mahou shoujo (magical girl) anime. A happy-go-lucky girl Sakura Kinomoto, suddenly comes across magical power and begins her quest alongside a cute lion-like creature serving as her guardian and mentor. Her quest is to capture the fifty-three magical cards of Clow Reed, each inhabiting a unique power that affects Sakura and the people around her in some way.

Mahoutsukai no Yome
- Episodes: 24
- Studios: Wit Studio
- Aired: Oct 8, 2017 to Mar 25, 2018
- Genres: Fantasy, Slice of Life
The Ancient Magus’ Bride is a beautiful anime. There were scenes that were, for a lack of a better word, magical. The story is told in a well-paced and brilliant way. And the themes and messages from the series were good ones. Though the series had a way of creating unnecessary cliffhangers in each episode.
The story follows a girl named Chise Hatori, who sells herself into slavery due to her not feeling wanted by her relatives. Though when all hope is almost lost a tall masked gentleman named Elias Ainsworth bids 5 million for the girl and outbids every other bidder in the room. He takes Chise to her new home in rural England where she can begin her new life as an apprentice and future wife for Elias.
