    Making Everything Anime!

Making everything anime is something I think all we anime otaku do, whenever we read a book, watch a movie, series and even some parts of our daily live encounters, we are all gulity of every now and then wondering what it would be like if we were living in an anime world.

Hey everyone am back again, sorry I have been busy but I have been working on the new look of the blog so that’s also kept me busy. Thank you for being patient with me and Irina a fellow aniblogger for recommending the new theme. It really allows me to be more creative.

So I was tagged for my second time in an amazing and always fun to read tag that has been going around “Make it Anime”.

You can just imagine how excited I was, when I was finally tagged for this. So what are the rules for this tag, you ask? they are:

    • Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog post.

Thanks again Irina for tagging me into this, and I loved you ideas to by the way they would make really interesting animes.

    anime hugs
thank you so much for including me…
    • Choose 1 Book, Movie and TV show of your choice that you think could work as an anime. (A series of books or movies is allowed e.g. Lord of the Rings, Hunger Games)
    • If you want to pick more than 1 from each section thatโ€™s fine. Or if you canโ€™t think of one for a specific category thatโ€™s fine also.
    • Explain why you think your choices could work as an anime. Maybe the advent of animation would enhance it, maybe the different anime genres could help expand and improve the story. Just go crazy with it.
    • Link back to the original post so I can read peopleโ€™s suggestions, Iโ€™d love to read everyoneโ€™s ideas.

We have Average Joe’s to thank for creating this awesome tag, also for the little fustration we feel since some of the ideas I have read so far are just really good I wish they really were anime.

    • Include Make it Anime in your tags so everyone including myself can find them all easily.Nominate around 5-10 bloggers.

    So let’s get started:

    Book

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

He’s a wallflower. You see things. You keep quiet about them. And you understand. -Patrick

Watching a social awkward Charlie, free spirited Emma, her stepbrother Patrick and friends helping charlie to stop sitting on the side lines of life and start living it was fun to read.

I mean who wouldn’t love an anime adaption of this. I loved the movie and book so much, It was a great coming of age book, with drama, romance and would make a wonderful slice of life.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower anime version

    Movie

    300

One word Seinen. 300 was a great film filled with blood, gore, a message of freedom and what men and women are ready to do when their freedom is threatened.

Especially with all the msytical beings and whole world in general, I really think there is a lot more that can be done with 300.

I mean their is a lot more world building that could be done. And am sure am not the only one who would like to see the early life of Leonidas, I mean a lot happened to shape him into the man he was.

    300 sparta anime

    TV Show

    Saved by the Bell

It was a show I loved watching as a kid for the laughs and adventure of school life. From navigating relationships, final exams, school dances, break ups and all the while trying to avoid getting in trouble with their principal.

They were a group of friends from all the social circles that usually wouldn’t hangout together, we had a cheerleader, a jock, a feminist, a fashionista and a nerd all friends going through the ups and downs of Bayside High School.

I think J.C Staff would be a great pick to turn this into an anime and would be able to enhance the whole series but still leave all it’s usual charm of teenagers growing up and trying to find their way in life.

    saved by the bell anime

So that’s it for me I really enjoyed being tagged into this. Let me know what you think.

And thank you for sticking around to the end.

  • Surviving in Zombieland: I Am A Hero

Surviving in Zombieland: I Am A Hero

Hello everyone, I wanted to share with you a new manga, I found myself not being able to put down. I was introduced to it by my little brother.

If you love post apocalyptic manga and unlikely heroes, you will definitely love I am a Hero. It was a fantastic read and I was glad I picked it up.

I personally think this is the Japanese take on the zombie survival genre The Walking Dead and it reminds me of Gantz for some reason.

I Am a Hero, Hideo Suzukiย

    Author:ย Kengo Hanazawa

    Volumes:ย 22

    Published:ย 2009ย โ€“ย 2017

    Serialization:ย Big Comic Spirits

    Synopsis

Insecure 35-year-old Hideo Suzuki is forced to work as a mangaka’s assistant when his own series fails due to low sales. As he struggles through a mundane life plagued by hallucinations, he comes to realize that his relationship with his girlfriend isn’t that great, suspecting that she may be cheating on him with her ex-boyfriend. After confronting her about the possible affair, however, Hideo feels bad about his inquisition and decides to visit her house to apologize.

But the world as he knows is about to be overturned. At first, not much seems to have changed, but he soon realizes that society has become a living nightmare, as the horrifying reality of what is taking place around him finally begins to sink in.-MAL

I Am a Hero also has three spin offs;  I Am a Hero in Osaka, I Am a Hero in Ibaraki and I Am a Hero in Nagasaki, which are all really good too. So you’re going to have a lot more to read after you finish reading I Am a Hero.

    Why I felt it worked

The story wasn’t rushed and look at our protagonist.

    Hideo Suzukiย

He’s a manga artist in his mid-30’s who his pretty much a nobody. A common pretty much regular guy that you’re pretty sure will die at the very beginning.

He really is not your usual hero. And all this made him a more identifiable character, that we can all see a bit of ourselves in.

Like I said earlier the story builds up slowly and really makes you have that nudging feeling at the back of your mind that something bad is around the corner and going to happen. Which some other series can’t just do.

The art is dark, gritty and often times very detailed. Its a very realistic manga with no overly excessive fan service i.e for example girls with large breasts and daddy issues, harems, chibi or adorable mascots.

Our hero Hideo feels like one of the greatest losers and he suffers from hallucinations, which adds and extra level of guessing from the readers, wondering if what we see is also real or just in his head.

And honestly it can be really dark, sad and very depressing but there are moments that remind us of things we have forgotten

    I Am a Hero
    Reminders like this

You will really get glued to the plot, sympathize with the characters and it all just reaches an abrupt ending that feels unexpected and you keep asking yourself

“is this really the end or did the author just get sick of creating this manga”.

    And it really mades me feel the author did this to me, after all the hours we spent together;

    I am a hero
    Baaaaaaam

It was a really nice ride but the ending did feel rushed, open ended or maybe it’s just that I wanted more. Me and everyone whose read this manga, I guess felt this way.

The story was over before we knew it, I mean after all the weirdness, the fights for survival, the mysteries left unanswered, motives, the laughs, the tears and just the whole journey in general.

It really had me salty for days wondering what happened next or what could have happened, I really really do hate open ended endings.

But I finally thought that maybe the story wasn’t really about what happened at the end, but about the moments and the limitations of us humans.

    Let me try to explain what I mean;

This story was realistic we couldn’t find all the answers out in the end. The story was not really about that but about the ride and not the destination. Our protagonist was just an average guy at the end of the day and there really is so much he could really do.

It was a story about a man harmed with a shotgun who was disillusioned, felt like a side character in his own life that tries to find some sort of meaning or resemblance of being a hero (be it a reluctant one) in zombie flesh eating world, that he’s thrown into.

Thank you for reading. Till next time guys, like, share and read my other content.

  • Just How Deep Was Elfen Lied? The Theory

Just How Deep Was Elfen Lied? The Theory

Most anime fans have heard of Elfen Lied by now. It’s infamous for its twisted, dark humor and is filled with nudity. I mean, the first five minutes of Elfen Lied is LITERALLY of a naked woman slaughtering people. But, despite that, it does have some deeper messages such as accepting yourself and your inner demons.

    elfen lied lucy anime

    The Basic Plot

Elfen Lied is something else. Definitely not your typical anime. Elfen Lied is not something that you want to enjoy a sunny day with. The violence and nudity may put some people off of this series, but I have to say that the story would not have had the same impact without it.

We have a young woman who has just escaped from a high-security government facility, where she was held against her will. And it is quite obvious from the brutal massacre that ensures that she is a very troubled individual with plenty of hate for the human race, and perhaps deservedly so. Thenย after she is essentially shot off of a cliff by a sniper under the direction of the director of the facility, she ends up on the shore of the beach where she runs into Kohta and Yuka. Still naked.

    Because of Fanservice

And this is where the story starts to disappoint me. The writers of this show then decided, after creating such an interesting character, they needed to turn her, through the ever-so-convenient plot device of memory loss, into some sort of mentally challenged child with the body of a young adult who can only utter the phrase “Nyu”.  And she has horns that suspiciously look like cat ears. Soon after, more girls come to join Kohta’s new “family” and yes, you get to see most of them naked.

Besides what’s going on in front of the viewer’s eyes, there is an ongoing plot in the background about the Diclonius race. I found this plot pretty intriguing as well, but it, unfortunately, takes a back seat to the character drama, which was… somewhat disappointing.ย

Still, we do have a few moments and scenes that make the show worth it. Most of us can relate to Lucy in her moments of wanting to forget her past and just be a normal, human girl. While most of us(probably) don’t go around with a split personality killing people, we DO still want to be and feel accepted for who we are.

    What About the Characters?

This is where I had my biggest bone to pick with this series. Most of the characters came off as either unrealistic or came off as pathetic excuses for fanservice. And the relationships were sometimes a little too forced.

Especially note the latter; relationships. It’s an important aspect, as they are the main factor to why the Diclonius are so “cruel”. “Cruel” because they aren’t the real cruel ones; that honor goes to the humans.

    Elfen Lied Characters…

Kohta is pretty much your typical harem anime protagonist.  He does offer some depth, but he is also unrealistic. I don’t expect fictional characters to act like real people, but they need to have a certain amount of believability. Any sane, real human being would turn in a lost, naked girl to the police. Not to mention, give a girl pants if she is obviously lacking some.

Yuka is… well, Yuka is the kind of cousin who wants you. Really badly.  She is content with longing for her wimpy, pushover of a cousin. I’m sorry, but why was this needed in the story, especially when there was already a love interest for Kohta? This part really bothered me. I would have enjoyed Elfen Lied more if they let this part out.

Lucy, on the other hand, was the meat of the story and, at least in my eyes, was much more of the main character than Kohta could ever be. I thought the flashback to her past was really well done and I admit I did feel sorry for her, even if half the time she was a sadistic murderer and the other half what amounted to a naked child.

    Conclusion

Now, did I enjoy this series? On occasion. But it was very hard to watch, and I only kept watching because everyone else seemed to think this was some sort of masterpiece.  And the fanservice was so over-the-top that it was gross. I really don’t need to see naked fourteen-year-olds, and even when the fanservice involved older characters, it wasn’t very tastefully done and was way too overdone.

  • Berserk – Casca restored, regains memory

Berserk – Casca restored, regains memory

Hello everyone, something monumental, big, no massive just happened in the Berserk manga series written and illustrated by Kentaro Miura. This is an event roughly 21 years in the making! And in chapter 354 that just came out, It happened

    Berserk Casca regains memory.

Please note there may be some spoilers.

As someone lucky to stumble upon berserk at a time, the manga had so many chapters already, I was so intrigued with it I couldn’t stop reading till I became like every berserk fan, waiting for the next chapter and praying Kentaro Miura wouldn’t go another hiatus.

    As a Berserk fan, this was an incredibly emotional event that I was actually moved to tears a bit, I mean just look at this;

    Gatts and Casca reunion

After all the hype and extremely long build to this. After roughly 21 years! After 27 volumes! After 267 chapters! From 1997 to 2018! I’m seriously emotionally about these two lovers reuniting. Many people, myself included had my doubts the day that Casca would speak again would ever come. If you have any interest in the Berserk manga, which is a masterpiece, now is a good time to jump in. For people not familiar with Berserk, you really should pick it up and let me explain why.

On March 31st, 1997 when the 13th volume first came out, Casca saw all her close friends (band of the hawks) being butchered to death and was then brutally raped by the person she looked up to and loved (Griffith/Femto) while her lover (Guts) pinned to the ground by apostles (demons) and forced to helplessly watch, while he hacked off his arm with a broken sword and got his eye gouged out as he tried to help Casca. This event was known as The Eclipse. And yes it’s a lot to take in but that Berserk with themes of isolation, camaraderie, and questioning whether humanity is fundamentally good or evil is always asked in the story, as it explores both the best and worst of human nature, humanizing our villains so sometimes you really can’t say whose always right or wrong, hero or villain.

event of eclipse Gatts, Griffith, Casca and the Gods Hands

The band of the hawks was a group created by Griffith to make his ambition of having his own kingdom come to pass. But during their rise in power Guts leaves, determined to find his own dreams after overhearing Griffith saying that he doesn’t consider someone a real friend who doesn’t follow their dream but his.

    Beserk- Band of the Hawks

Devastated by Guts’ departure and in a moment of madness, Griffith goes to the bedroom of the Princess, who has now fallen in love with him and seduces her into sleeping with him. Griffith was captured by the King’s guards and imprisoned for this. After a long time Guts learns of Griffith’s imprisonment and that the Hawks are now led by Casca. He also finds out that the Hawks are outlaws now and are on the run. Guts come to their aid as they are attacked and save Casca’s life. Casca and Guts plan to leave the Hawks together after they have rescued Griffith.

Casca and Guts break into the castle’s dungeon and rescue Griffith. However, Griffith has been badly tortured and his body broken so he cannot even speak anymore. Back at the camp, the Hawks begin to fall apart as they realize that Griffith can never lead them again. At this moment Guts realizes that being with the Hawks was what he had wanted all along after all.

A despairing Griffith hallucinated and tries to kill himself but his blood falls on his magical behelit and triggers a supernatural eclipse. Next thing, the Hawks are all in hell. Surrounded by monsters and four beings known as members of the God Hand. Griffith is the fifth and last member of the God Hand. To be reborn as one of the God Hand, Griffith must sacrifice all the Hawks’ lives. A giant hand rises out of the ground taking Griffith with it.

Griffith sees visions of himself as a child wanting to go visit the castle. As he gets closer to the castle he sees dead bodies pavรฉ the path. An old woman tells him that the only way to the castle is to walk on the path made of the bodies. To complete the path, he must sacrifice more lives. At this moment he sees Guts. We hear Griffith’s thoughts that out of all the tens of thousands of comrades and enemies, Guts was the only one who ever obscured his vision of his dream. Nevertheless, Griffith declares he will sacrifice the Hawks. The hand then closes up with Griffith inside. Then volume 13 happens and since then Guts has hated Griffith.

    Guts vs. Griffith

The Eclipse decades ago was so horrific for Casca that it made her regress to a child-like state mentally, shattering her mind. For 21 years she has not been able to speak and acted like a 4-year-old. Damaged and a constant reminder of The Eclipse. It was torture for Guts. Then, the release of volume 22 on December 24th, 2001, suggested that Casca could be healed if they traveled to an island called Elfhelm. And so the long, long, long, long journey to Elfhelm began!

    guts and his new group

In 2015 with the release of chapter 342 they finally made it to Elfhelm. The Queen of Elfhelm recently put Casca and two of her companions (Farnese and Schierke, both women on the right next to Casca) to sleep for Farnese and Schierke to essentially enter Casca’s mind and heal her, bringing her back to how she was before The Eclipse. After many chapters of Farnese and Schierke collecting fragments of Casca’s broken mind within her treacherous dream, as of, February 23rd, 2018, with the official release of chapter 354, they have now obtained the last fragment! The last page of the chapter is Casca seemingly healed and opening her eyes!

Chapter 354 was a whirlwind of powerful emotions, and honestly one of the best chapters in all Berserk so far! I don’t know if some of you quite understand just how big of a deal this moment is, and how insanely anticipated it has been for Berserk fans. It’s quite possibly the biggest moment in the manga when it comes to how the story will now be affected, and that’s saying a lot when it comes to Berserk.

what could happen now in berserk

    So now the real question is what happens now does Guts;

    • forget what Griffith has done and stay in Fantasia with Casca
    • goes back to face Griffith in his Utopia, The Death of Griffith arc, begins!
    • will see the Band of the Hawk resurrected as demons/apostles who have their memories. Will Guts still have as much of a reason to hate Griffith?
    • Casca might fall back into old, Golden Age habits and rejoin the cult of Griffith. It’s going strong and world-wide now.
    • might need to turn her back into being broken cause the strain of everything that happened to her might just be too much
    • has another long hiatus (LOL)

Thanks for reading, hope you stick around and check out our other content.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to cry some more tears of joy…

  • Devils Line Anime: (Final Episode) Still a Better Love Story Than Twilight

Devils Line Anime: (Final Episode) Still a Better Love Story Than Twilight

I finally sat down to finish watching this anime after missing the last two weeks. But Iโ€™ve already read the manga, the anime itself wasnโ€™t that bad. Still, the manga clears up a lot of confusion, and I still highly recommend it for anyone wanting to know what exactly is going on.

The biggest problem with this anime versus manga is that the original story is too big to be covered entirely in a short series anime.  As a result, the anime ends up introducing way too many characters way too fast. Weโ€™re supposed to even care about them but a lot of them just come off as flat. We canโ€™t cover them all, so for the vast majority of them, there is no sense of closure. I mean, we straight up have no idea what happens to some of them. And Iโ€™ll admit that I couldnโ€™t even remember most of their names half the time.

For instance, Nanako (a.k.a. Zero Seven) couldโ€™ve taken Kikuhara out herself. Unfortunately, he has a strange hold over her, so she just canโ€™t pull the trigger.  It feels weird when a story thread suddenly cuts off with no sense of finality. Thatโ€™s exactly what happens here. I wish the anime had explained more of her and not to mention, WHY Kikuhara is such a butthead.  The manga goes into more detail as to why, but I wish the anime would have as well.

Related:ย Devilโ€™s Line: How Could They Work?

Hans Lee gets Tsukasa to safety after she gives Anzai her blood, but he pretty much has to go into hiding after he does. Unfortunately, the adaptation kinda glosses over this. Which Iโ€™m not a fan of since Lee has been and will always be one of my favorite characters.  He risked his life to do so and barely is given a second glimpse.

As Anzai remains unconscious, he starts to see a memory from his youth. Kikuhara had taken him to see his father. Thatโ€™s it, basically. I feel like there is so much more to it than what they showed, but that was it. A huge buildup and thenโ€ฆnothing. How very anti-climatic.

In fact, it seems as though they have assassinated Kikuhara. This same car explosion happens in the manga, but the guy survives it. In the anime, however, it looks pretty fatal. But hey, if there isnโ€™t going to be a sequel, then it doesnโ€™t really matter if Kikuhara survives the explosion or not. Iโ€™d be okay with there being a sequel and second season to this, but theyโ€™ll have to add more and explain a few things.

After Anzai wakes up, he despairs over the fact that he had lost control of himself and bitten Tsukasa. He loses faith in the idea of a human-devil romance. Kano(old guyโ€ฆI think) tells him what really happened with his Father. Essentially, Anzaiโ€™s father was okay up until some terrible people killed his human girlfriend. As a result, he took revenge on them, but the deed made him lose himself completely. He then went on a rampage and killed more people. So heโ€™s a bad guy, but there areย reasonsย for it.ย  Also, his mother fell in love with his father AFTER he was already locked up and considered a murderer. Which I thought could use a heck of a lot more explaining.

So the credits begin to roll, and afterward, thereโ€™s a time skip. Again, the adaptation skips over a ton of events to get to this point. Plus, I think itโ€™s lame that theyโ€™reย still blushing at each otherย at this stage of their relationship. But no matter, the story here is essentially over. The only context you need is that Tsukasa has now found a purpose in life: sheโ€™s going to devote her life to researching and understanding devils. And she and Anzai are together.

They could have explained why Anzai was even there though. Did they lift the ban on him? Did he just suddenly sneak out? The anime makes it appear like itโ€™s a long time, but according to the manga, itโ€™s only 10 weeks. This shouldnโ€™t really surprise me since the anime has barely been following the manga anyway.ย  But anywhoโ€ฆ

Have you already watched it? I do seriously recommend it as I think itโ€™s good. But still, read the manga. It gets better. And explains more. Devils Line Anime isnโ€™t better than the manga, but youโ€™ll like it!

Devilโ€™s Line Review: Anzai and Tsukasa Did What?

The 9th episode of Devilโ€™s Line was released just a few days ago and reactions were varied as usual. Devilโ€™s Line seems to be a lot like Root Beer, you either really love it, or you completely hate it. Thereโ€™s no in-between.

devils line anzai and tsukasa anime

Episode 8 began right where it left off with Anzai catching Tsukasa when she fell out of the window. We get to see Anzai actually controlling some of the devil inside of him and even more of Hans Lee(who is really Yohannes, but I still prefer Hans).

devils line anime anzai and tsukasa

Now, the anime itself hasnโ€™t exactly been following the manga. Especially with episode 8, but that didnโ€™t really surprise me since they would have to change the ratings and categories if the anime followed the manga exactly.

Getting to see how they reacted in a more intimate situation was actually adorable to me. It was surprising that they were going THAT far, that fast, but I still thought it was cute. The way they acted reminded me of a real couple and I was giggling and squealing during most of the moments.

With both episodesย 8 and 9, we get to see a tiny bit more of a plot, but nothing surprising. When they introducedย Chief Sako Anzai, of course, we all knew who she was.

Which of course, brings up more questions than answers. It makes you more curious about ONLO and what information theyโ€™re actually giving their workers.

Devilโ€™s Line is still a good anime for you to watch, regardless of whether youโ€™ve read the manga or not. Iโ€™ve said it before but itโ€™s one of those shows that makes it easy to just believe that happiness and true love happens just because. Yes, their relationship came from out of nowhere and moved way too fast, but itโ€™s cute, itโ€™s relatable at times, and itโ€™s something Iโ€™ll keep watching.

Devil’s Line Review: How Could They Work?

Have you seen Devilโ€™s Line yet? Episode 3 was just released on OtakuStream and fans have been going crazy over it, with mixed reviews.

I just finished watching the third episode of Devilโ€™s Line. I originally saw the third episode first and was immediately hooked. But, Iโ€™m kinda glad I did that since when I went back and watched the first two episodes, the very beginning was a little off-putting for me. Not sure if I would have kept watching if I had seen the first episode, well, first!

I donโ€™t handle gore well! If you havenโ€™t seen or heard of it yet, hereโ€™s a brief rundownโ€ฆ

*Warning: Contains Spoilers for those who havenโ€™t read the manga or seen the anime*

Tsukasa Taira, a college student, is rescued from an attack by a devil, or vampire, that can blend in with the human population. Anzai Yuuki, her savior, is a half-devil who exploits his supernatural gifts as a member of a shadowy police task force that specializes in devil-related crime in Tokyo. As Anzai continues to keep guard over Tsukasa, the two quickly forge a tentative bondโ€”one that Anzai fears will test his iron-clad rule of never drinking human blood โ€ฆ

Of course, the government does not know of their existence, because their appearance does not differ from humans. They also do not need to drink blood, but when they get a craving or get angry, they can become uncontrollable monsters.

    What Do We Think?

The anime itself is cute, not counting for the blood and gore that comes with it being a vampire anime. The episode will only be a 12 episode anime, much likeย Ouran High School Host Club, and Iโ€™ve been waiting impatiently for the next one.

The first episode doesnโ€™t do the manga justice.  Instead of trying to develop Tsukasa and Akimuraโ€™s relationship naturally, the episode awkwardly squeezes in a flashback as the former watches the latter get stabbed to death, and even that final scene is inexplicably cut short: Just as Anzai jumps on Tsukasa to consume her blood, the credits roll, leaving anyone who hasnโ€™t read the manga to wonder if the showโ€™s hero is any better than all the other vampires. I understand that this is the point, but I donโ€™t think the scene was supposed to communicate this point so poorly.

I would say first, that the manga is better than the animeโ€ฆbut then again what book isnโ€™t better than the movie?

But would Anzai and Tsukasaโ€™s relationship work?

Before, back in the whole Twilight phase, I would say yes. Even now, the hopeless romantic in me is inclined to agree. I love how Tsukasa loves Anzai despite their differences. Even when he becomes a monster, she just puts her hand on his cheek and my romantic fangirl heart melted.  Despite Anzai being your typical โ€œemo, angst-riddenโ€ protagonist, I found myself rooting for him. Well, more for Tsukasa than him, but still.

Devil's Line Review: How Could They Work?

The focus is just as much on struggling with living with the desire to eat humans as it is on combating those who desire to do so. Iโ€™m curious to see where the anime will go with this. I hope that the producers will follow the manga enough, and develop their relationship further. Even so, with it only being 12 episodes, it could be why theyโ€™re rushing the relationship in the first place.

    So let’s gets started on our list of what you should be watching this year ;

    One Punch Man 2

In 2015 season 1 of One Punch Man ended and it really left on a high note and it’s been over two years since then. For those who haven’t watched it you should, it follows the story of Saitama who wants becomes a hero for fun and he is the strongest hero ever in his universe so far.

    OPM fans have been refreshing pages every day on new about a second season and the wait is finally over, we are getting a second season. But there as been a change in the staff members, the series will be animated by J.C.Staff instead of Madhouse, some people are worried about this but I don’t think you should, J.C.Staff havery some good animations to their name like;

A certain magic index, Railgun, Golden time, Shokugeki no Souma and a lot more, so I think we are in good arms. So they have what it takes.  So let’s wait for all the comedy, action, super powers, Si-Fi and seriousness. Whatever you are looking for OPM as a lot to offer.

Shingeki no Kyojin Season 3 and Movie

Its a manga by Hajime Isayama, its finally coming a season 3 but not before the third movies a recap of what happened in season 2, so for any one who missed out you can watch that. This time we didn’t need to wait so long.
I know some might have been discourage by season 2, which were just 12 episodes and not 25 like the first season, Levitation didn’t have much scenes and it mostly felt like filler episodes to me most have the time. But it had some good parts, like finding out Ymir was a titan or the biggest shocker to me that I watched an thought maybe there was a mistake in the translation, was when Reiner Braun and Bertolt Hoover who had fought with everyone through the hell that is Shingeki no Kyojin world, turned out to be the Armored Titan and Colossus Titan took sometime to sink in for me but in the world of Shingeki no Kyojin, you only have like a minute to absorb it in and react.
Maybe that’s one of the many reasons why we love it, it follows Milo Murphy’s law, anything bad that can happen will happen and at the worse possible time. I really feel no character is safe from getting the axe, cause in the world they live in anyone can die in the blink of an eye.
I read a bit of the manga and the action will be coming this season more than ever, and this season should be longer than 12 episodes, so expect a lot from season 3 of Shingeki no Kyojin.

Boku no Hero Academia 3rd Season and Movie

Last season,  we saw how One For All functions a bit more, Midoriya taken on the Hero Killer Stain, with Todoroki and Lida, learn a bit more about a villian, All For One and if the manga as anything to say of how season 3, will be it’s going to be packed full with a lot of action and excitement.
If you couldn’t wait like me and took a peek at the manga, it will cover the School Trip Arc and can go beyond because there is enough content for a season 3, 4 and maybe even more. Let’s hope we get more episodes this season.  I really enjoy Boku no Hero Academia but I was sceptical at first but I see it going really far, even the creator would like to show them to the point of our heros maturing and showing their lifes as pro heros, so let watch and see but I think we have another manga like Naruto that will eventually branch to their children taking  over.
Another thing to look forward to is the movie, not much is know yet except that it won’t be a recap movie but delve into the backstory of an unknown character, in addition to featuring the character of class 1-A, showing new a character’s origins. So that something to really look forward to. And I can’t wait.

Nanatsu no Taizai : Imashime no Fukkatsu and a Movie

It took 3 years but we finally got a second season, it’s coming back with full force with a season 2, a movie, and a PlayStation 4 game. It will still be produced by A-1 Pictures.
They seem to have gotten their holy weapons back and it seems they will be facing the demon clan this season, so expect a lot more insane fights this season and lots of laughs. Its going to be great.
Season 1 covered the first 103 chapters, so I think season 2 will pick up from there and cover up to chapter 197, and the movie could pick up for then, with a third season to start from chapter 219. So far no information on the movie as been let out.

    Tokyo Ghoul:re

Tokyo Ghoul is back and this time the story picks up Two years after the CCG’s raid on Anteiku. Things seemed to have changed in Tokyo, ghouls continue to pose more of a problem as they have begun to take action, especially the Ghoul terrorist group Aogiri.
A special team as been created the Quinx Squad, they are humans that have undergone surgery, giving them special abilitiesof ghouls and they might just be what the CCG need to eradicate the ghouls. The leader of the group Haise Sasaki, half-ghoul, half-human who had been trained by special class investigator, Kishou Arima. But unknown memories trouble the leaders mind, slowly reminding him of who he use to be.
Its great we are getting a season 3, but while people are worried about the director and really worried about the script, season 2 was really bad to me and didn’t portray the characters well and greatly differed from the script.

But am reading the manga at the moment and it can get confusing, so the animate characters if done well could explain a lot of things, that get confusing with the massive amount of characters, we have in the story. Guess we will just have to see how it goes, but hoping for the best cause am a fan of Tokyo Ghoul.

    Fairy Tail  (2018)

Since 2006, after 175 episode TV series, a 102 episode sequel, 2 OVA and 2 film, a side story novel and several spin off manga Fair Tail is coming to end. Its another long running shounen like Naruto to get an animated end. Most got nothing like Reborn, Bleach and with endless hiatus Manga like hxh, grayman and others only wonder if some will get.

Hiro Mashima revealed on his official Twitter account that the final season of the series will premiere this year, but don’t be afraid this might not be the end of your beloved series, as like Naruto, it might just be the end of one characters story and the beginning of another. He said he doesn’t think Fairy Tail is done just yet, that he still has a lot of plans and we should look forward to that.

Am really looking forward to the new season, hoping for a better plot this season cause last season seemed to get just up and down the place to me after a while, and I was just watching at a point because I had gone to far to just stop watching Fairy Tail.

Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu OVA

I really want to scream WHY OVA ! WE WANT A NEW SEASON, they are keeping us this interested, and it’s understandable I guess White Fox has their hands completely full right now, with Steins;Gate 0 and the Peacemaker movie, but hopeful maybe we will here something after the OVA airs.
The OVA should either be about the side story where Subaru gets pissed that there no Mayonnaise, in this new world he is in, so he tries to make one from scratch.
                                                              Or
It could be to fill the time gap between episodes 10 and 11, because a lot of event after the events of the dog attack in the village was skipped that that show how Rem and Subaru got so close, for people that complained about it.

    Date A Live 3rd Season

My guilty pleasure is finally back, after two series adaptations in 2013, 2014 and a film in 2015, now this year Date A Live is back for a third season.

The anime should cover volume 8-11, it’s been so long I hope this new season will be better than season 2 that seemed rushed and let it lose most of its popularity.

The light novel as brought the popularity back for Date A Live and I thick IMS are more prepared now to create something really good, this time around

The series has already been adapted into two TV series (one in 2013, one in 2014) and a theatrical film (in 2015) with direction by Keitaro Motonaga and animation by Production IMS. Let’s hope they get it rightthis time around.

    Terra Formars OVA

Finally the OVA adaptations of the series Earth Chapter that should have been released with volume 21, that was delayed indefinitely will be out this year.
So we can expect a lot of action, excitement and maybe a 3rd season after this OVA. Looking forward to this.

Peacemaker Kurogane Movie 1 : Omou Michi

Refresher it follows Ichimaru Tetsunosuke who is traumatized by witnessing the murder of his parents, making him want revenge and for this he needs strength and at age 15, he joins the Shinsengumi against his supportive brothers wishes, Tetsunosuke. He soon realises he lacks the skill, mind and emotionless cut out for the job. To become strong he will have to become a demon.
I was so happy when I heard it was being brought back as a two part anime film, this time who will see our protagonist as a young adult which will be a new angle we have not seen him in yet. It will be release on June 2, 2018 and the second part in the fall.
The film has a stellar cast and the old voice actors and actresses are coming back, so I have know doubt we are in for a treat.

    Made in Abyss 2nd Season

So far this as not been verified as coming out this year, but I really hope it does, realistically it might not be until 2019 or 2020 before getting a second season.
At first I won deed by it was rated 17+, but the anime is really harsh and ruthless to its characters. The graphics are very beautiful and you really feel like you are immersed in the world, to the moe drawings of the characters that you hate at first, but end up falling in love with.
This was pretty inevitable that it would get a second season, but it’s confirmation was so fast. This is a first from Madhouse that don’t do sequels but Made in Abyss broke that trend. And from what I read in the manga, we are in for an even more exciting season 2 when it comes out. Fingers crossed that it comes out this year.

    Persona 5 the Animation

The anime will follow the video game closely, about a rebellious group of teenagers in Tokyo who form the Phantom Thieves of Hearts to rebel against the corruption in the land, the protagonist will be named Ren Amamiya, different from the manga series where his name his Akira Kurusu.  Its coming out in spring of this year.
When it comes to Persona anime, its never been really impressive but this was my favourite Persona game so am looking forward to the anime, but I have my doubts on how much will have to be cut out of the original material to fit into 24 episodes. Hope it comes out great but either way I get to see my favourite game animated so its a win for me either way.
Hope you loved my list and would love to hear from you, if you think an anime should or shouldn’t have been added to the list,  I want to hear. Please remember to share and like us.

Getting glued on anime this season recommend by Yo! D101

Hey everyone, it’s the holidays so what better time to curl up alone or with that special person or persons the couch and binge-watch a really good anime. And us at Yo! D101 have you covered this holiday, follow this recommendation and you will be laughing, crying or whatever emotion you want this holiday.

With this, you don’t have to go online looking at recommendations, plots and all that. Right here is a list of anime that you will love no matter what you are into. Plus they aren’t like really long animes, like the 100 and something anime, so you can be done with them before the holiday is over.

       Here is the list, but not in any order of most interesting or anything like that. I am just listing them. They are ;

    • 3 gatsu no lion
    • Berserk
    • Boku no Hero Academia
    • Hai to Gensou no Grimgar
    • Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo
    • ReZero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu
    • Terra Formars
    • Tokyo Ghoul
    • Kizumonogatari
    • Sword of the Stranger
    • Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou
    • Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo
    • Akame ga Kill
    • Natsu no Taizai

    3 gatsu no lion

The series shows the everyday life of Rei, a 17-year-old professional shogi player, it takes place in Tokyo and if you have watched Honey and Clover, you will definitely like it.

He lives a loner life, living by himself, estranged from his family and has basically a handful of friends. Among them is a family that keeps several cats, and which comprises of a young woman Akari Kawamoto, and younger sisters Hinata and Momo.

The story shows how Rei develops as a person and shogi player and deepening his relationship with the Kawamoto sisters and others.

Am going to binge-watch it myself this holiday, but I got this recommendation from my younger brother, he’s pretty knowledgeable about anime and I have been hearing a lot about this one. I have watched only one episode so far a visual quality really blew me away, it’s really good and shows promise. So taking a blind fate on this and recommending it even though I have not finished watching it myself.

    Berserk

The story centres on Guts, a lone mercenary and Griffiths, a leader of the mercenary band -Band of the Hawk. You think Sasuke and Naruto rivalry was something, Griffiths and Guts take it to a whole new level. Really realistic and shows the good and evil humans are capable of, how society as become and so much more.

Guts is a wandering mercenary who from his birth as been soaked in blood and war, born from a hanged corpse, adopted mother dies from the plague and adoptive father try to kill him, which forces Guts to kill him and this scars Guts even more.

He meets Griffiths as he wonders and forced to join is a band of mercenaries, and he finds a home there and becomes friends with Griffiths. But he later decides to leave after hearing Griffiths saying he doesn’t consider anyone a real friend that follows someones dream and doesn’t have their own, and Griffiths has big plans.

He joins the team again when Griffiths been captured and after a tough fight they rescue him, but Griffiths is a shadow of his former self, his body is completely broken. This is where the supernatural world is really explored now and by sacrificing the band of the hawk, he is revived better than ever.

Casca and Guts the only survivors at the ceremony called the Eclipse, Guts swears revenge for the men and Casca whose a shadow of her former self. And the story begins of blood and rampage, but there are still moments in between that makes you laugh and smile.

It really makes you understand everyone perspective, so you understand where the villains are coming from if you can really call them that sometimes. Because even sometimes in Guts fights, he can be questioned if he’s the good guy. Plus that big sword that Guts swings around is awesome and his prosthetic arm that as a cannon in it is awesome. And along the line, he gets an armour that shuts of the limiters in his body but slowly takes over if used for long and turns him into a raging Berserker, thing Bleach Ichigo’s Hollow mode.

Its really good but the manga is better and that’s only cause I feel the anime cuts so much out. But it should be noted it can be very graphic in its violence and sexual content.

    Boku no Hero Academia

At first, when I saw the hero think, I was a bit sceptical about it but I came back to watch it when I kept hearing good reviews about it and it really good. Some people have even speculated it the new “big anime” like the likes of Naruto, One-piece, Dragon Ball, Bleach and other really popular anime. Masashi Kishimoto the creator of Naruto has even said how he thinks it’s really good. And before Boruto came out to replace Naruto, some people thought it would fill the gap Naruto would leave.

The story follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy born “Quirkless” meaning he as no powers, on this earth people with quirks, is the norm. So Izuku is bullied for standing out (being quirkless), even though all this, he still wants to be a superhero. And along he meets the world greatest hero All Might and he shares his quirk “One For All” with Izuku. Enrolling him into U.A. High School, a school that cultivates the next generation of superheroes and hero support teams. And like the intro says his story begins to tell us how he became the world’s greatest hero.

    Hai to Gensou no Grimgar

The story is about a group of people who suddenly find themselves in a fantasy world with no memory from before waking up in this new world, it shows their struggles to survive and make a life for themselves in this new world.

Grimgar what can’t I say about it, am still waiting for a second season, it was really great and it wasn’t just focused on the gaming world element like most anime of this genre are. It talks about comradery, developing into a team and developing together but it doesn’t do it in a cheesy way.

You are really interested in learning more about the characters, following their story and by the time you are watching the last episode, you really don’t want it to end. I personally felt like a part of the team at the end of it, like this were people I wouldn’t mind being stuck in a fantasy world with and slay hoards of monsters with.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo

After an untimely death, Kazuma Sato, a shut-in NEET, meets a goddess Aqua, who offers to reincarnate him in a new world, where he can live the MMORPG life of going on adventures, battling monsters and defeat the Devil King. He drags Aqua along with him against her wish, thinking she would be useful, but that idea is short-lived. They form a dysfunctional team of an explosion obsessed wizard and masochistic crusader

It’s a very good anime, part comedy and party fantasy, that will leave you laughing though out, around the end it gets a bit serious, and like in gaming fashion, a boss battle happens and you really enjoy the action and seriousness of the fight.

       You really enjoy all the character quirky and wild character like;

Darkness  is a crusader, whose a serious masochist, who if she has her way wants to be the tank of the party all the time, just so she can get her kicks😂😂😂, but that’s what she’s also really good for because she has zero accuracy so none of her good offensive attacks never connect.

Megumi is a wizard, who only uses one powerful spell that is very powerful but incapacitates her after one use. And she refuses to learn any other spell, so she can be useless too and loves food.

Aqua is a goddess and archpriest in the new world and first companion of our hero. Her magical offensive abilities are basically useless, only shining when fighting against demons, the undead and even resurrect fallen companions. She spends most of her skill points on party tricks. She finds it difficult saving money and is usually broke.

Kazuma Sato our main character who dies in a funny way and takes Aqua to this new world with him to punish her. And he’s not your usual shy MC, you would get in this situation, he can be very bold but sometimes become the shy MC, we are used to. And like he said he is an equalist, which means he is the type of guy who would hit a girl back if she hit him for no reason and he’s never holding back when punishing the girls when they do anything wrong. He chooses adventurer allowing him to learn various skills which he sometimes uses in pervy ways. He’s the one who can bring all of is crazy team members together and use them in a way, that the actual seem like good adventurers.

    ReZero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu

Another main character appearing in another world, Subaru Natsuki coming out of a convenience store, suddenly finds himself in another world. Not knowing how he got here, he soon makes friend with a silver hair half-elf girl and her companion spirit Puck. Helping her look for her insignia that was stolen, when they are killed though, in their search for it, Subaru finds himself back at the beginning of his first day in the new world and realises he as an ability that reverses time when he dies. He uses this to protect himself, Emilia and all these new companions in this new world.

So expect to go on a roller coaster of adventures and when I first saw this anime, I was sceptical about it but it’s really worth the watch. Shows the measures the length a guy will go for a girl he loves and the people he takes dear and close to his heart. More of a serious tone, than comedy but it something you will love and won’t be able to wait till a third season comes out.

    Terra Formars

In an attempt to colonize Mars, scientists are tasked with terraforming the planet. They decide to seed the planet with a modified algae that absorb sunlight and purifies the atmosphere and cockroaches, whose corpses spread algae across the planet as they feed.

After 500 years, the first manned ship to Mars lands and what the crew meet are giant mutated humanoid cockroaches with incredible physical strength and intelligence, they are killed by them, but not before they send a distress message warning earth. And this is where our story begins, turning humans to weapons by undergoing genetic modification with any organism to inherit their characteristics.

      I have written about Terra Formars before here is the link for that below;

If you are a Starship Trooper fan, love space travel, transformations or battles with alien bugs, this is definitely for you and if you don’t it still as a lot to offer, like how a man handles issues with his cheating wife.

    Tokyo Ghoul

It is a world, where ghouls (people who can only survive by eating human flesh) live among normal humans, hiding their true nature to evade from the authorities tasked with hunting them down. Ghouls have enhanced speed, senses, regenerative ability, strength, are resistance to ordinary weapons and special organs called kagune that can be brought out in combat, so expect so insane fight scenes.

The story follows Ken Kaneki, a college student who survives a Ghoul by the name Rize Kamishiro, who he asked out on a date. At the hospital he is taken to, he undergoes an organ transplant with Rize, turning to a half Ghoul.  How does Kaneki handle this new life of being neither completely human or ghoul and the battle he faces against ghouls and the government authorities tasked with hunting ghouls. And how it changes him from a timid quiet boy to a complete badass.

    Kizumonogatari

A high school student Koyomi Araragi, he befriends another student Tsubasa Hanekawa and she is an honour student. Tsubasa tells him about a rumour about a blonde vampire that has been sighted around their town recently. He encounters the rumoured vampire – kiss shot Acerola Orion Heart under the blade, in a pool of her own blood and all her four limbs cut off by three vampire hunters. He reluctantly at first ends up giving her his blood to save her, now he’s her vampire subordinate and he has to help her get all her limps back from the hunter, to restore her to full power and allow her to change him back to being human.

It’s actually a 3 parts movie, but it really good and worth the watch.

    Sword of the Stranger

Another movie but a really good one and a really good sword fighting. Nanashi a nameless ronin, gets caught up in a struggle with swordsmen from the Ming Dynasty China when he agrees to take a boy Kotaro and his dog to a Buddhist temple. The reason behind the Ming swordsmen relentless pursuit unknown. A man haunted by memories of his past, which as made him avoid drawing his sword, will this be too much for him to handle.

When it was over I was kind of wishing there was a part two of this, just to see how the surviving characters were doing.

    Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou

         Thanks to his parents being transferred, Kazunari Usa a high school freshman, as to live on his own. His mother makes arrangements for him to stay at Kawai Complex, a boarding house that provides meals for its residents. Ritsu, a senior at his school that he likes also stays there with other weird and funny characters, like ;

Shirosaki – a novelist and masochistic and sometimes wiser than he looks, roommate.

Mayumi – a beautiful office lady who has terrible luck with men, drunk and a bit of a slob in the complex.

Sayaka – a sly and man monger college student, who likes to be the centre of attention and former country town trouble maker in her village.

Its never a dull moment in the Kawai Complex, as the series progresses we see Usa and Ritsu gradually become closer friends, it’s a really good slice of life, with lots of laughs, misunderstandings, tear, it ad that first love awkwardness you just love a, laugh and I really want a season two of this one so bad too.

    Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo

I watched this before Bokurawa Minna Kawaisou and it made me really love slice of life and so far I haven’t watched any anime to help me fill, this void this two anime as left.

Sakura Dormitory is a dorm of the high school affiliated with Suimei University of the Arts, it’s home to the strangest, most troublesome students. After being kick out of the normal dorm for keeping stray cats, Sorata Kanda moves into the Sakura Dormitory. As he gets used to living in the dorm, he meets a world-famous artist Mashiro Shiina, who cannot even take care of her daily life, moves in. Sorata is kept in charge of taking care of her. Its tells us about their daily lives as they grow mentally and learn that no one is truly a genius without putting in the work.

They are a lot of funny moments that will leave you, laughing like crazy, but there are still moments that really are emotional. It makes you go through a lot of the days of youth emotions. Then ends and you have grown attached to the characters, wondering how the future plays out for all of them and just wanting more.

    Akame ga Kill

The story follows Tatsumi who is a young villager that travels with his friends to the capital, to raise money for his home only to discover a strong corruption there. He is recruited into Night Raid and they fight against the Empire to end the corruption.

It was really good but the manga had a better ending, but it’s definitely worth the watch.

    Natsu no Taizai

The Seven Deadly Sins were an active group of knights in the region of Britannia,  who disbanded after a plot to overthrow the Liones Kingdom. Their supposed defeat came at the hands of the Holy Knights. Ten years later, the Holy Knights stage a coup d’etat and capture the king. The third princess, Elizabeth, starts out on a journey to find the Seven Deadly Sins and enlist their help to save the kingdom.

The fights were great, some say it like Fairy Tale but I don’t agree with that, its in a category of its own. Everyone in the group is badass, but they are not overpowered to not find certain fights difficult and some times they are the one standing as obstacles to each other. So I recommend you watch it, you won’t be disappointed.

So that’s the last one hope you enjoy and lover them to😊😊. Please share and like it, if you think it’s good.
