Thanks for the Nomination!
I was really happy that Crow from Crow’s World of Anime nominated this site for its first Real Neat Blog Award. I have to apologize for making him wait so long for me to reply, and I say thanks for his patience. Since both YumDeku and I (The NerdyGirl News) work on this blog, I decided to write this post to give him a break. Seriously, he does so much work!
The Rules
According to ancient custom, I must now display the rules. I’m not entirely sure what will happen if I don’t, but I’m not really inclined to find out! Maybe I’ll get sacrificed to the Goblin King, haha. So here they are:
- Display the logo (should be above).
- Thank the bloggers for the award (already done!).
- Answer the questions from the one who nominated you.
- Nominate 7 to 10 bloggers.
- Ask them 7 questions.
Questions from Crow’s World of Anime
What Do You Think Makes Your Blog Special- Either to you or your readers?
One thing that I personally love about MyAnimeGo, is its diversity. Might be tooting my own horn here, but I love that I get to write about depression and mental health issues and still have it correlate with anime. So many anime fans and writers feel alone and it’s nice knowing that we’re not.
When you first started your blog, what did you think would be the most enjoyable part of blogging?
I thought it would be awesome to meet new people who were also anime fans. I’m happy to report that this was true and I’ve met so many awesome new people that I can fangirl with!
What do you think is the most enjoyable part of blogging now?
It’s still all the new anime fans I’ve met. I’m a huge introvert, and blogging lets me still have a voice and share it with others. I’ve made some life long friends through blogging and wouldn’t change it for the world. Being told that a few of my articles have made a difference, really encourage me to keep writing.
You’ve been charged with revitalizing the Isekai genre. How would you do it?
Probably by having them not just end up being a harem and doing the same cut and paste story lines. I like when an anime does something different but I would rather not know the entire show just by its genre.
Excepting my site and yours, what is your favorite blog post? If that’s too broad, what’s your favorite blog post in the last month?
I have so many favorite anibloggers but lately, I’ve been reading everything that Irina over at drunkenanimeblog has done. She has some really good article, not just reviews, on certain anime shows and I really like the diversity of it.
What advice would you have for new anime bloggers trying to get started?
DON’T GIVE UP. It’s so easy when you’re just starting to give up when you don’t immediately see results. Think about WHY you’re writing. I’ve been doing this for over 3 years and my first year was a hot mess. I think I made about 6 dollars that whole time. When I went on my hiatus, my income dropped again. Results happen but if you’re doing this just to make an income, it might not last.
What one anime character do you most identify with, and why?
I really had to think about this one. I wish I could say someone really cool and buttkicking. But honestly, I’m probably the most like Tsukimi Kurashitam, from Princess Jellyfish.
Tsukimi is an awkward girl terrified of social interaction, attractive people and the prospect of formal work. Which is basically me in a nutshell. I’m awful at social interactions. We even look a lot alike!
Nominations and Questions For the Real Neat Blog Award
This is the part where I get to cordially(I feel fancy saying this word) invite other bloggers to answer my questions for their own Neat Blog Award. So, here are some sites that I’d love to see answer the questions (which are below):
- Rai’s Anime Blog
- TigerAnime
- GeekNabe
- Matt-In-The-Hat
- Littleanimeblog
- TheRamenStand
- DubbedAnimeHQ
- Yu Alexius Anime Portal
- Yuu’s Sanctuary
- Mia
Now — what questions to inflict on these unsuspecting victims…I mean, writers. I’m trying to think of ones that haven’t already been done to death so I hope ya’ll like these!
Here they are:
- Who is your Waifu/Husbando?
- What is your favorite anime opening?
- Along the same lines, what’s your favorite anime soundtrack?
- What is your LEAST favorite anime genre?
- If you could go into any anime world, which one would it be?
- What advice would you have for new anime bloggers trying to get started?
- What anime animal sidekick, is your favorite?
Thanks for reading MyAnimeGo’s first Real Neat Blog Award article! And if you’re so inclined, please feel free to use the comments section to give your own answer to any of the questions!
As always,
Keep Smiling!
