Top 15 Most Awaited Anime Series Of 2024
2024 is halfway through but we’re still expecting two more seasons full of both new anime and returning favorites. With that in mind, here are the most anticipated anime series of 2024 that you should add to your watch list!

15. Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions Season 2

Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions is a wacky detective show where a quirky genius solves puzzles, and you solve them along with him. Instead of being dark, it’s lighthearted and fun, allowing you to kick back and simply enjoy.

The series follows a really smart but weird detective guy named Ron. He used to be the best but got in trouble and lost his detective license. Now he helps an unskilled cop named Totomaru solve crimes. They’re an odd pair, but they’re good at catching bad guys.

Season 2 will be another wild ride with the eccentric detective. Expect more crazy cases, weird people, and even weirder solutions.

14. Blue Exorcist: Beyond the Snow Saga
- Air date: Oct 2024 to ?
- Genres: Action, Fantasy, Demons, Shounen
Blue Exorcist is a classic school-set shonen anime with a likable main character at its core. While some may find it cliché, the series does a good job at gently tackling relatable themes like friendship, feeling like an outcast, and family. It may not be as deep as other popular shounen like Attack on Titan or FMA but it still offers a solid, engaging story and lovable characters.

Following their victory over the Impure King, Rin and his friends return to True Cross Academy, only to encounter a series of strange events. At the school festival, Lucifer from the Illuminati arrives and declares war, intending to merge the human and demon realms by resurrecting Satan.

13. Sakamoto Days

One day, a legendary assassin meets a shop lady and quickly falls in love with her. Embracing his new life, he retires from his deadly profession. However, his peaceful days are interrupted when a fellow agent from his organization is sent to bring him back. After failing to do so, the agent is ordered to kill him.

Despite his retirement, the assassin’s skills remain sharp, and he defeats the agent. Recognizing the assassin’s unmatched abilities, the agent accepts defeat and later joins the shop as a worker. The story follows Sakamoto’s new life as he balances family, business, and his adventurous encounters with various agents sent to claim his bounty.

12. Dragon Ball Daima

- Genres: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Shounen
Dragon Ball Daima is a new Dragon Ball anime series where Goku and his friends are magically turned into children. They embark on a new adventure to find a way to reverse the transformation and uncover the mystery behind it.

Daima was initially planned as an anime-original series without Akira Toriyama’s input. However, after offering some advice, Toriyama became deeply involved, creating the story, world, characters, mechs, and more. He handled the story, settings, and many of the designs.

11. Blue Box

- Genres: Romance, School, Sports
There are several great shounen sports anime like Haikyuu or Kuroko’s Basketball, but Blue Box takes a refreshing route by mixing sports with romance.

A coming-of-age story, Blue Box is about a high school boy named Taiki who’s in love with his upperclassman, Chinatsu. They train together every morning, he for badminton and she for basketball. When Chinatsu’s family moves abroad, she ends up living with Taiki’s family, which brings them even closer.

10. The 100 Girlfriends Who, Really, Really, Really Love You Season 2

- Genres: Romance, Harem, Comedy
The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You Season 2 will continue the chaotic and hilarious journey of Rentaro, the guy who somehow ended up with 100 girlfriends.

The MC, Aijou Rentarou faced 100 heartbreaks in Junior High. Praying at a shrine, he meets the Love God, who reveals Aijou will encounter 100 soulmates in high school. If any relationship fails, the girls will die from unfortunate events. Now, it’s a matter of love or death, and it’s up to Aijou to decide.

9. Shangri-La Frontier Season 2
- Air date: Oct 13, 2024 to ?
- Genres: Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Video Game, Shounen
Shangri-La Frontier follows Rakuro Hizutome, a guy who is solely focused on one thing—overcoming terrible VR games. He dedicates his entire life to these flawed games and can solve their issues even in his sleep. One day, he decides to challenge himself by playing the popular game “Shangri-La Frontier.” However, he quickly realizes how difficult it is. Will his expert skills be enough to uncover its hidden secrets?

Season 2 will pick up right where season 1 ended, continuing the story with new characters Kyoju and Aramis, who made their debut in the finale.

8. Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II

Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online is a spin-off of the popular game isekai series Sword Art Online. It follows Karen, a shy girl who transforms into a badass gamer named Llenn in the virtual world. She loves pink, guns, and is exceptionally skilled at shooting.

Season 2 will continue directly from Season 1. As the storylines don’t overlap with the original series, you can watch Season 1 and move on to this without needing to see the original.

7. Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? V
- Air date: Oct 2024 to ?
- Genres: Action, Adventure, Fantasy
A beloved fantasy anime, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? is about a young guy named Bell who wants to be a hero. He lives in a world with gods and monsters. Bell joins a team and goes on adventures to fight monsters and get stronger.

Season 5 will focus on a big fruit festival in the city where Bell lives. There will be new characters, maybe some trouble, and of course, Bell trying to be a hero.

6. Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen – Soukoku-tan
- Air date: Oct 5, 2024 to ?
- Genres: Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Shounen
The original Bleach anime ran for a total of 366 episodes from 2004 to 2012. It was a popular series filled with memorable life lessons and quotes that, along with Naruto and One Piece, formed the “big three” of shonen anime.

As for the Sennen Kessen-hen (Thousand-Year Blood War) arc, this final arc is divided into four cours. Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen – Soukoku-tan is the third part of Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen. It picks up where Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen – Ketsubetsu-tan left off.

In the previous part, Yhwach recruited Ichigo’s friend Uryuu Ishida as his successor and struck the weakened Soul Society, aiming to obliterate his enemies. As Ichigo trained to gain new power, the Soul Reaper captains fought for survival.

5. Dandadan

Dandadan is a comedic action series following the adventures of Momo Ayase, a ghost enthusiast, and Ken Takakura, an alien fanatic. Their contrasting beliefs lead them on a supernatural journey after a bizarre encounter confirms the existence of both ghosts and aliens.

One of the most anticipated anime of Fall 2024, this series perfectly blends comedy and action, making it a must-watch for fans of both genres. Dandadan is known for not taking itself too seriously, offering a refreshing take on the supernatural. If you enjoy shows with quirky characters, unexpected plot twists, and over-the-top action sequences, Dandadan is definitely worth checking out.

4. Arifureta Season 3

Heavily criticized Arifureta anime is surprisingly back with Season 3. Despite being bashed for bad writing, atrocious animation, horrendous pacing, and overly generic characters, the anime has returned.

Arifureta is about a loser who gets sent to a fantasy world with his classmates but is the only one with weak powers. Betrayed by his classmates during a dungeon raid, he ends up at the bottom of the dungeon with no way out and must become really strong to survive.

3. Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Season 2
- Air date: Oct 2024 to ?
- Genres: Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Harem, Romance, Isekai
Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Season 2 will continue the story of Rio, a young orphan who gains the memories and abilities of a deceased Japanese college student.

Rio’s magical adventure continues in Season 2. He’ll face new challenges, make new friends (or enemies), and learn more about the world’s secrets. Expect lots of action, magic, and maybe a little romance as he deals with life in a strange new world.

2. Blue Lock 2nd Season
- Air date: Oct 5, 2024 to ?
- Genres: Sports, Shounen
The highly anticipated sequel of Blue Lock will continue the intense soccer competition as young players strive to become the best strikers in the world.

We can expect to see the return of familiar characters and the introduction of new rivals as the competition heats up.

After the ‘U-20’ arc, things get crazier! Ego has huge plans to challenge his players with an international, televised tournament.

1. Re:Zero 3rd Season
- Air date: Oct 2024 to ?
- Genres: Drama, Fantasy, Suspense, Isekai, Psychological
Re:Zero is one of the most popular modern dark isekai. Fans love its intense storytelling, nuanced characters, and the emotional depth it offers. The series follows Subaru, a young man who gets transported to a fantasy world and discovers he can reset time upon death, allowing him to try and alter tragic events.

Re:Zero Season 3 picks up a year after the battle against the Great Rabbit. Subaru and Emilia’s group are enjoying a relatively peaceful life when they receive an invitation from Anastasia, a prominent figure in the kingdom. This summons them to the bustling city of Pristella, setting the stage for new challenges and reunions.

FanX 2022 SLC: Cosplays and Discord

Hello again lovely readers! If you’re in the US, you might know that last weekend was FanX(used to be known as Salt Lake Comic Con), held at the Salt Palace Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

This year was better than ever. Amazing panels, talented artists and of course, some of the best cosplays.

One of my favorite parts of FanX is the guest panels. There were TONS for anime, actors/actresses for every genre you can think of. You readers might enjoy knowing Monica Rial was one of them. She’s known for being the voice actress for Tsuu Asui (My Hero Academia), Lyra in Fullmetal Alchemist, Sakura in the English version of Tsubasa: Reservior Chronicle and Shiro in Deadman Wonderland.

There’s always the option to get photo ops with the guest stars (for a price) and to say hello. There’s also the panels that have a Question/Answer session, a cosplay contest and the event ended with a Dr.Horrible’s Sing Along Blog Sing-Along.

Bryce Papenbrook: FanX

Bryce Papenbrook is one of my favorite voice actors. Mostly because he’s the male voice for some of my favorite anime shows! He’s Chat Noir in Miraculous Ladybug:Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir, Kirito in Sword Art Online, Eren Jaeger in Attack on Titan, Rin in Blue Exorcist and Masaomi Kida in Durarara!! I could most likely write a blog post on him alone and the characters he voices. Attack on Titan and Blue Exorcist are some of the best animes ever made.

Blue Exorcist: Anime Review
After talking with a friend about good beginner anime shows, Blue Exorcist came up in our conversation. I realized that I haven’t done a review on it and thought it would be great to go ahead and start. When I put the show on to watch though, I realized it was much harder to watch it to do a review rather than just for fun. But isn’t that the whole point with ANIME BLOGGING?

Now, it could have been that I was running on less than 5 hours of sleep and started watching at 1 am but I digress…

Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist)…watch it or leave it?

I found more things to criticize in the first 5 episodes than I did when I first watched a few years ago. BUT…I do still love this anime and I DO recommend it for people just starting their anime journey. Just want to go ahead and point that out since this post will seem like I don’t like the show and I do!

Blue Exorcist Cliché’s Are Everywhere

If you like anime with demonic elements and conspiracies of the highest order (basically every anime) and kids with superpowers, then I highly recommend this series. It has a lot of elements that make every action/adventure anime likable. You have your typical carefree and dense main character, Rin Okumura, who is born with an affliction that is willing to put his life on the line for his family and friends despite having a tough childhood. He is commonly paired with his super-intelligent and logical twin brother, Yukio.

The rest of Rin’s friends are there for comic relief and moral support. Mephisto, who acts as Rin’s guardian, is always funny, carefree, witty, and resourceful. One of those aloof characters that the audience has a hard time figuring out his intentions. Is he a good guy or a bad guy? Of course, there’s a big-breasted supporter of Rin that cares for him deeply. Which is another cliché but anyway.

While it doesn’t entirely match the manga I fell in love with, I think the adaptation does the series justice and adheres to the different audiences that anime caters to.

As many people say, Blue Exorcist is heavily clichéd in many aspects so I might as well point them out first…this list was compiled by the fans on Reddit and I have to say that I agree with every single one of them!
1. We have a hot headed protagonist(+1)
2. who holds immense power he could not quite control(+1),
3. use’s a sword(+1)
4. that is not any random sword but a special one assigned especially to him(+1).
5. Protagonist is fighting against the biggest embodiment of evil there is(+1)
6. for revenge of his father(+1)
7. who died trying to protect him(+1).
8. The protagonist has a brother(+1)
9. that is smarter and more skilled than him(+1),
10. including more popular with the girls(+1),
11. and he appears to be wearing glasses(+1).
12. The brother have higher rank than the protagonist in their job(+1),
13. and the protagonist wants to surpass his brother(+1).
14. Now we also have a heroine who is a klutz(+1),
15. A group of people who are seemingly unfriendly at first(+1),
16. which one of them took position as the protagonist’s rival(+1).
17. The group grew closer to the protagonist but become hostile more than ever when they learned of the protagonist’s secret(+1),
18. and so the protagonist must try to convince them 1 each at a time(+1).
They were very cliche, even when fleshed out. Some developed more than others, but nobody grew up too much. They all stayed their same old selves, with their same old goals and things. But they were entertaining somehow. The cliches are something that anime fans are either going to love or hate.

Maybe because I was watching with the intent of reviewing as I mentioned above, I found more things to criticize. When I do a review of something that I just watched for the first time, it tends to have more positives than negatives but I think this article might lean more towards the negative? This is conflicting since I did enjoy the show and recommend it to everyone.

One of my favorite episodes is actually when they find Kuro, who was Father Shiro Fujimoto’s former familiar. For one thing, Kuro is insanely cute and I think he deserves his own point, I think the episode shows that fighting and beating everything up isn’t always the answer. Sometimes you just need to share a drink, haha!

Though the premise for the anime can be a bit odd, I still think Usui belongs on this list.

8. Sebastian Michaelis – Black Butler

He’s simply one hell of a butler. Can be mine any time of the day!

7. Shoto Todoroki – Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia)

How can you not think he’s cute?

6. Haruka Nanase – Free! Iwatobi Swim Club

I think it’s fair to say that Free! is one major fan service anime, but all the guys are definitely crush-worthy. Nanase was always my favorite, so he got the spot on the list.

Naturally, Issac “Zack” Foster is on here! Here’s one sociopathic serial killer that is crush-worthy!

3. Guren Ichinose – Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign

And yes, his name sounds like it’s spelled…itchy nose. I always have a little laugh when I hear or read it.

2. Izuku Midoriya – Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia)

My Hero Academia was on here earlier, but Deku is just so darn cute. I couldn’t help but add him to this list as well.

1. Levi Ackerman – Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan)

Anime has a way of drawing us viewers in with its captivating visuals, and the cutest characters created. And last but not least on our list is Levi Ackerman titan slayer, mannerly and interesting. (YumDeku here stealing the no.1 spot cause someone forgot to finish her list)

10 Anime Anyone Who Loves Jujutsu Kaisen Should Watch
Anime like Jujutsu Kaisen? Jujutsu Kaisen (Sorcery Fight) is a hugely popular anime series and now manga after its anime release struck a chord among anime fans and critics. It won the fifth annual Crunchyroll Anime Awards for the Anime of the Year award, with a recent explosion in sales of the manga and some going so far as calling it the future of shounen.

Before we get started on our 10 anime like Jujutsu Kaisen recommendations, for our readers who have not watched the series yet. Let’s have a really quick summary on what the series is all about.

Honestly, the whole Naruto series could fit our list of anime similar to Jujutsu Kaisen. Apart from the main protagonist’s original hair colors, both have another powerful being inside them that tries to take control of their body, a senior white-haired senpai, they both fight to help others and don’t get me started on the bromance and rivalry.

With supernatural themes, interesting characters, and stylish battles, Blue Exorcist is a must-see series like Jujutsu Kaisen.

Kemono Jihen takes our last spot on the list of 10 Anime anyone who loves Jujutsu Kaisen should watch, even though the major characters are children, both anime have supernatural themes, amazing battles, cool characters and a beautiful art style. I love how some episodes left me wondering if the morally right thing to do was actually the right decision.

Natsu is one of my favorite characters in Fairy Tail. A friend of mine went ahead and did a gender-bend version of him and I went as Lucy to the Salt Lake City Comic-con. We had tons of photos taken and it was such a blast! Not to mention the range of characters to choose from are endless. There are so many ships, OTP’s, and characters that it makes this anime cosplay costume so easy to do!

Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan: Levi

Of course, Attack on Titan has risen in popularity, especially with the release of the ~~second~~ third season. The music is fantastic, and the characters are well-developed. I can’t wait to see more, especially with the cliffhanger they left us with! This anime cosplay costume has remained a cult classic for years and I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon. It’s almost up there with One Punch Man and One Piece.

Another favorite is Blue Exorcist. Rin reminds me so much of Gray Fullbuster (Fairy Tail) that I had to do a comparison piece. This is one of those anime shows that you expect to just be fluffy and it turns out to be one of those that makes me sob into your bowl of Cheetos.

Now I know Vocaloid isn’t an anime, but tons of people love to cosplay Miku Hatsune!

Personally, I just love the style. If I had more bravery, I would wear something like this daily out to the store or the park. Sadly, right now the only place I can wear it is to other anime cons or my backyard for photoshoots.

This is just one of those new anime cosplay costumes that people have just started to do. The anime itself is amazing and thought-provoking, the artwork is incredible and the soundtrack is something that you can listen to over and over again.

And last but certainly not least, is Miraculous Ladybug! While technically not an anime, I include it since I have might have a slight obsession with this French Cartoon and see no reason to stop. The fanbase is huge and we are all desperately waiting for season 4 to come out.
