12 Shows Like Miraculous Ladybug You Should Be Watching

We already know we love Miraculous Ladybug, but when we’re waiting for a new episode—or let’s be real, the rest of the season to finally drop—we might want something else to binge. So here are 12 shows like Miraculous Ladybug that you’ll certainly love!

    12. RWBY

RWBY has a slightly more serious tone and centers around a group of young heroes learning to protect their world from monsters. The animation style is unique, and the action scenes are really exciting.

It’s kind of like Miraculous Ladybug because it’s not just about “big hero moments”—there’s also a lot of focus on personal stories, growth, and how the characters become a team.

    11. LoliRock

If you enjoy the magic and friendship in Miraculous Ladybug, LoliRock is a fun one to try. It follows Iris, a girl who dreams of singing but ends up discovering she’s actually a magical princess. Along with her friends, she fights evil while juggling her normal life and her music career.

The animation is bright and colorful, and the music is super catchy. All in all, LoliRock has that same mix of action, charm, and heart that makes Miraculous so lovable.

    10. Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts

Kipo (center) and friends make their surprisingly cheerful way through a post-apocalyptic hellscape beset by giant mutant animals in Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts.

Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts is a post-apocalyptic animated series that follows Kipo, a young girl who lives in a world overrun by mutated animals. As she searches for her father, she discovers her own strengths and forms bonds with diverse companions.

The show’s colorful animation, infectious music, and themes of acceptance and self-discovery really match the feel-good vibe of Miraculous Ladybug. Kipo’s journey of learning, growing, and staying strong gives fans a new perspective that’s both fun and uplifting to watch.

    9. Avatar: The Last Airbender

Avatar: The Last Airbender is an epic tale of Aang, the last Airbender, who must master all four elements to bring peace to a war-torn world. While its scope is grander than Miraculous Ladybug, both shows share themes of destiny, responsibility, and the challenges of growing up.

The series has an incredible world and characters who face some really tough choices, but at its core, it’s a universal coming-of-age story that Miraculous Ladybug fans will definitely love.

    8. W.I.T.C.H.

W.I.T.C.H. is a French-American animated series that centers on five girls—Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin—who are chosen to be the Guardians of the Veil, each wielding a unique elemental power.

Juggling magic and regular life isn’t easy, and this show gets that—just like Miraculous Ladybug. It’s a fun mix of fantasy and personal moments, with characters who grow and friendships that feel real. If you’re looking for something that has the same kind of charm, this is a great pick.

    7. Code Lyoko

A French animated series, Code Lyoko follows a group of students who discover a virtual world threatened by an evil artificial intelligence named X.A.N.A. They must enter this digital realm to combat the threats while maintaining their school life.

Code Lyoko has that same vibe as Miraculous Ladybug, where the characters are just regular teens by day but have to fight big, crazy dangers when duty calls—just like Marinette and Adrien. Plus, the mix of 2D and 3D animation looks really cool, and the way the story focuses on teamwork and tough choices makes it stand out.

    6. Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon is the quintessential magical girl anime that set the standard for the genre. It follows Usagi Tsukino, a clumsy yet kind-hearted teenager who transforms into Sailor Moon to fight evil forces.

Just like Marinette, Usagi’s got a lot on her plate—between saving the world and handling school and friendships, she’s always balancing it all. So if you love how Miraculous Ladybug mixes everyday life with superhero action, Sailor Moon totally gives you that same nostalgic, magical vibe.

    5. Winx Club

An old childhood favorite that takes you back to Saturday morning cartoons and ultimate girl power. Similar to Miraculous Ladybug, it has strong female (and male!) characters that magic to grow as people and defeat their foes.

Winx Club is set in a vast universe that has several dimensions. Most episodes take place in the Magic Dimension, which is closed off to ordinary people and inhabited by creatures from European mythology like fairies, witches, and monsters.

    4. Wakfu

Wakfu is a worthy recommendation as well. It’s a French animated fantasy/action/adventure show with romance. It can have slow bits (especially in the beginning), but the latter half and second season/OVAs are very enjoyable.

Fair warning, though…don’t watch the English dub. French is great, but the English version just sounds odd.

    3. Teen Titans

Teen Titans is about a group of young superheroes—Robin, Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven, and Cyborg—who team up to protect their city and face off against some pretty dangerous villains.

If you’re looking for superhero shows, Teen Titans (the original series) is always a good recommendation, and it has a bit of romance as well. I was obsessed as a young teen with the original. We don’t think about the new remake they did and prefer to remember the team as they are.

    2. Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia

If you like 3d animation style that’s similar to Miraculous Ladybug, you’ll probably like Trollhunters. It follows the story of James “Jim” Lake Jr., a teenage boy who finds a mysterious amulet and stumbles across a secret realm inhabited by trolls and other magical creatures. Soon afterward, he and his friends are charged with protecting the world from the dangerous monsters that lurk in the shadows of their small suburban town.

The story was continued in a science fiction-inspired follow-up series entitled 3Below: Tales of Arcadia, and the trilogy concluded in a third and final fantasy series entitled Wizards: Tales of Arcadia.

    1. Star vs. the Forces of Evil

Star vs the Forces of Evil is a nice Western magical girl show, BUT if you’re not a fan of love triangles, you might not like it. The lore & whatnot in the show is good, and if you’re wanting something to start with, it can be a good starting point.

The show follows Butterfly, a teenage princess from another dimension who’s sent to Earth to learn how to control her powerful magic. She’s not exactly the most careful with her wand, though, which leads to a lot of chaotic (and hilarious) adventures.

  • 15 Best Anime Series to Watch When You’re Feeling Down

15 Best Anime Series to Watch When You’re Feeling Down

Some days are just harder than others. As an introvert, we all need an escape and anime can definitely bring that safe haven to us. Anime isn’t “just for kids” and can, at times, be darker and delve into some deeper issues. But when you need something light-hearted to make you laugh, these are my go-to animes for whenever I’m depressed or need a smile!

The best animes are the ones that make you feel something. They remind you of what it’s like to be a kid before depression and anxiety took over you. Anime has truly helped me so much in overcoming my own depression and anxiety, and I know it can help you as well!

    So, without further ado…

    15. Laid-Back Camp

The ultimate chill anime about a group of girls who love camping, Laid-Back Camp is like a warm cup of tea on a cold day. With serene landscapes and relaxing moments, whether it’s setting up tents or simply enjoying nature’s peace, this anime gives you all the cozy vibes you need.

When life feels heavy, these girls’ embrace of quiet joys is just what you need to lift your mood. Plus, you’ll get a new love for the outdoors!

    14. The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.

Saiki K. is the comedy you never knew you needed. Saiki, a high school student with psychic powers, just wants to live a normal life, but his crazy classmates and insane situations keep getting in the way.

This anime is non-stop humor with a protagonist who’s ridiculously OP but just wants peace and quiet. The sheer randomness of his life will have you laughing in no time, making it the perfect anime for when you just need to escape and enjoy something completely absurd.

    13. Kaguya-sama: Love is War

Kaguya-sama: Love is War is one of those romantic comedies that will literally have you laughing out loud. It’s about two high school geniuses, Kaguya and Miyuki, who are in love with each other but are too stubborn to confess. Instead, they engage in hilarious mind games to try and get the other to admit their feelings first.

The back-and-forth between them is both adorable and ridiculous, and it’ll have you grinning from ear to ear. No heavy drama here, just pure comedic gold.

    12. Lucky Star

If you’re ever in need of pure, silly fun, Lucky Star is where it’s at. This slice-of-life anime follows a group of high school girls just living their everyday lives. The jokes are quirky, the characters are hilarious, and it’s totally carefree.

From ridiculous moments about food to totally random discussions, it’ll definitely lift your spirits without asking for too much emotional investment. It’s the kind of anime that reminds you how simple and silly life can be when you don’t sweat the small stuff.

    11. One Punch Man

Sometimes, when life feels tough, you just need a superhero who’s chill and absolutely overpowered. Enter One Punch Man, where Saitama, the hero, can defeat any villain with a single punch. Sounds ridiculous, right? And it is, in the best way!

Watching Saitama casually save the day while being bored out of his mind will make you laugh and give you that needed boost. It’s fun, light, and packed with epic fights, but it’s also a reminder that not everything in life has to be taken so seriously.

    10. K-On!

This anime is like a big, warm hug. No drama, no life-or-death plots—just a bunch of high school girls forming a band and eating cake in the clubroom a lot. Yui, the clumsy guitarist, is so adorable that you can’t help but smile.

Every episode is basically a serotonin booster, and if you’re feeling down, it’s the kind of light-hearted chaos you need. Music, friendship, and fluffy vibes all the way. 10/10 comfort anime, no notes.

    9. My Ordinary Life

My Ordinary Life might have “ordinary” in the title, but it’s anything but ordinary. It’s completely random, like laugh-so-hard-you-cry kind of random. One second there’s a girl wrestling a deer, the next, a principal is flying through the air. The deadpan humor mixed with insane situations just works.

The show follows the daily antics of three high school friends—Yūko Aioi, Mio Naganohara, and Mai Minakami—and their interactions with an eight-year-old genius inventor, her robot caretaker, and a talking cat.

If you’re ever crying on the floor and need a reason to laugh again, this anime will totally pull you up. Trust me, it’s a mood.

    8. Barakamon

Ughhh, this one hit me right in the soul. It’s about a grumpy calligrapher who escapes city life and ends up on a quiet island with a bunch of chaotic locals—including the most adorable little girl, Naru, who basically steals the show.

Barakamon is one of those shows that just feels calming. It’s got plenty of funny moments, but it also hits you with some meaningful lessons about life and growth. It’s the kind of anime that makes you smile and think at the same time.

    7. My Roommate is a Cat

This one’s for all my introvert-anxiety besties. The main guy loses his parents and suddenly ends up living with a stray cat named Haru. What makes this anime super special is that you get to hear both the human’s and the cat’s perspective. In fact, it’s the simple moments they share that are so uplifting.

All in all, it’s sweet, quiet, and sometimes emotional, but in the best way. Perfect for rainy days and curling up with a blanket (and maybe your own cat 🐾).

    6. Komi Can’t Communicate

Komi is the shy queen of our dreams. She literally can’t talk to anyone and yet somehow ends up becoming the school’s most admired girl. Watching her slowly open up and make friends is so wholesome that it hurts. Not to mention, while it tackles serious themes, it still maintains a funny and lighthearted tone with a major feel-good energy.

The art is beautiful, the humor is on point, and the whole thing just makes you root for her so hard.

    5. InuYasha

InuYasha was the first real anime and manga series that I read. I quickly fell in love with the characters from feudal and modern Japan. It follows Kagome, a human girl, who is transported to feudal Japan, where she meets Inuyasha, a half-demon trapped by a sacred arrow. Together, they search for the shattered pieces of the Shikon no Tama, a jewel that grants wishes, while battling enemies and making new friends along the way.

This is a great anime series if you want something cute with a bit of the older Sailor Moon type of feel. It’s nostalgic, and the romance and laughter will keep you smiling for a while. Not to mention, it inspired so many great fanfictions!

    4. Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir

I just discovered this anime last year when I was going through anime music videos.  Depression had hit me hard, and I decided to give this anime a chance. By the first episode, I was hooked! And I do mean, soul-consuming, forget everything else hooked.

In this show, Marinette and Adrien, armed with magical Miraculous jewels, transform into Ladybug and Chat Noir to protect Paris from akumas sent by the villain Hawkmoth, all while keeping their identities a secret.

This anime is just super cute. The second season was just released, and I’m still hopelessly waiting for the next episode. The best(and most frustrating) part of the show is that Marinette is in love with Adrien, Adrien is in love with Ladybug, and Chat Noir loves Ladybug. They’re basically in love with each other, and it’s adorable and laugh-out-loud funny. Not to mention, it’ll make you throw your pillows at the tv screen.

    3. Shugo Chara

Shugo Chara was one of the first anime I watched in high school. The story centers around Amu Hinamori, an elementary school girl with a “cool and spicy” exterior, who wishes for the courage to be her true self. The next morning, she discovers three colorful eggs that hatch into Guardian Characters: Ran, Miki, and Su.

Amu’s Guardian Characters help her discover her true self and fulfill her dreams. As she struggles with her “would-be” selves, Amu learns to “chara-nari” (character transform) or “character change” for special powers, both offensive and practical. Eventually, Amu is recruited as the “Joker” to search for X Eggs and X Characters, corrupted forms of people’s dreams, which the Guardians aim to purify.

Shugo Chara will give you all the feels and remind you of what it was like to be a child again—before depression took over, when you still knew what you wanted to do and who you wanted to be in life.

    2. Himouto! Umaru Chan

I’m sure you’ve already seen the pictures for this one. Basically, Umaru Doma is considered the perfect person, but once she’s home, she turns into a lazy, selfish chibi character that just games and watches anime all day while eating snacks and drinking cola. Honestly, she sounds exactly like me!

So, if you ever feel like you’re overwhelmed with adult responsibilities, watching Umaru embrace her lazy side without any worries is sure to bring a smile to your face.

    1. Ouran High School Host Club

I just HAD to include Ouran High on this list. When I first watched this, it captured my attention quickly. Basically, Haruhi Fujioka goes to Ouran High on scholarships while most everyone else is just a rich kid that goes. She goes into Music Room 3 and accidentally breaks a vase in front of the eccentric members she meets there, and they make her work it off as their errand boy. I say, boy, because, since she has a tomboyish figure and short hair, they mistake her as a male instead of a female at first.

  • Ranking the Kwamis: Unveiling the Most Marvelous in Miraculous Ladybug

Ranking the Kwamis: Unveiling the Most Marvelous in Miraculous Ladybug

In the mesmerizing world of Miraculous Ladybug, where heroes don magical jewels to battle evil, the charming Kwamis add an extra layer of enchantment to the story. These lovable, otherworldly beings are not only adorable sidekicks but also the ultimate source of power for our heroes. With a diverse range of personalities, abilities, and traits, each Kwami brings something unique to the table. In this blog post, we’ll embark on an exciting journey to rank the Kwamis and determine who truly reigns as the best Kwami in Miraculous Ladybug.

    The Kwamis: An Exquisite Lineup

Before we dive into the ranking, let’s take a moment to appreciate the diversity of Kwamis that grace the Miraculous Ladybug universe. From the mischievous Plagg to the elegant Nooroo, every Kwami possesses a distinct set of characteristics that endears them to fans. Their interactions with their Miraculous holders not only provide comic relief but also reinforce the show’s themes of friendship, responsibility, and self-discovery.

    The Ranking Criteria

Ranking these delightful creatures is no easy feat, but we’ll consider several key factors to determine the best Kwami:

    1. Personality and Charisma: How compelling is the Kwami’s personality? Do they bring a unique charm to the show?
    2. Connection with Miraculous Holder: How strong is the bond between the Kwami and their Miraculous holder? Does their dynamic enhance the storyline?
    3. Impact on the Storyline: How pivotal is the Kwami to the overall plot? Do they contribute significantly to the heroes’ triumphs?
    4. Symbolism and Abilities: Does the Kwami’s concept align with their abilities? How creatively do they utilize their powers?

    Ranking the Kwamis

Now, without further ado, let’s reveal the ranking of the best Kwamis in Miraculous Ladybug:

    7. Nooroo, the kwami of transmission (Butterfly Miraculous)

Nooroo, the kwami of transmission Butterfly Miraculous (featured-image)

Nooroo is a calm, wise, and loyal Kwami, bearing ancient knowledge and a sense of caution, driven by hope for redemption and a better future. Nooroo’s personality, a harmonious blend of tranquility, wisdom, and loyalty, adds a layer of complexity to his character. His interactions with his Miraculous holder and the unfolding events in “Miraculous Ladybug” reveal the depths of his persona, making him a Kwami of profound significance in the fight against villainy.

    6. Sass, the kwami of Intuition (Snake Miraculous)

Sass, the kwami of Intuition Snake Miraculous (featured-image)

Sass is my favorite and I was pleasantly surprised that he got second place.

Sass is the kwami of Intuition.  Sass is the defacto leader of the kwamis in the Miracle Box, meaning he is mature, charming, calm, responsible, and serious. Because of his status as a said leader, Sass can give certain commands to his fellow kwamis when he needs to. Another demonstration of his leadership is how he dares to try to dissuade Gabriel from having his wish granted and explain to him the drawbacks of fusing too many Miraculous. The other kwamis also tend to hide behind him when they get scared by their new villainous owner.

    5. Duusu, the Kwami of Emotion (Peacock Miraculous)

Duusu, the Kwami of Emotion Peacock Miraculous (featured-image)

Duusu brings an emotional depth to the show with her empathetic nature and soothing presence. Her connection with her Miraculous holder adds complexity to the storyline, but she ranks lower due to limited screen time.

    4. Wayzz, the Kwami of Protection (Turtle Miraculous)

Wayzz_Square-Wayzz, the Kwami of Protection Turtle Miraculous (featured-image)

Wayzz’s calm and collected demeanor makes him a reliable companion. His role as a guardian and adviser is essential, yet he misses out on the top spots due to a lesser impact on the central plot.

    3. Trixx, the Kwami of Illusion (Fox Miraculous)

Trixx, the Kwami of Illusion Fox Miraculous

Trixx’s mischievous personality and playful abilities inject a sense of wonder into the series. His interactions with his Miraculous holder and contributions to various episodes secure him a solid spot in the ranking.

Trixx is friendly, encouraging, wise, and a good judge of character. Like Tikki, Trixx also understands others’ actions and feelings. Because of that, he can be very manipulative. After the mission is completed in “Sapotis,” when he hears that Alya made a promise to return the Miraculous, he is willing to return to the necklace without any resistance and also understands Alya’s burning desire to continue helping her new teammates and that the three of them would make a good team.

    2. Tikki, the Kwami of Creation (Ladybug Miraculous)

Tikki, the Kwami of Creation Ladybug Miraculous (featured-image)

Tikki’s optimism, friendship with Marinette, and embodiment of creation are truly heartwarming. She’s a fan-favorite for a reason, closely missing out on the top spot due to the fierce competition.

Tikki is calm and collected while being optimistic, kind, and encouraging. She is very understanding towards others, commending Marinette for not telling Cat Noir her secret identity and comprehended with her parents’ decision of grounding her, mindful that Ladybug’s responsibilities for keeping her identity a secret is important.

Although she can become annoyed or exasperated with others, Tikki doesn’t stay upset at them for long, only wanting what is best for them and those around them. Though rarely seen, she does have a bit of a temper when Plagg refused to help their holders in their amnesiac state.

    1. Plagg, the Kwami of Destruction (Cat Miraculous)

Plagg_the Kwami of Destruction (Cat Miraculous) (featured-image)

Topping the list is Plagg, the charismatic troublemaker with a heart of gold. His witty one-liners, dynamic with Adrien, and ability to create chaos (and sometimes order) make him the best Kwami. Plagg’s connection to Adrien significantly impacts the story, cementing his position as the most remarkable Kwami in “Miraculous Ladybug.”

Plagg is the kwami of Destruction. According to Master Fu, he is heavily implied to be responsible for the leaning tower of Pisa, the sinking of Atlantis, and, most notably, the extinction of the dinosaurs and dragons. But he’s also adorable.

In canon, he can be arrogant and lazy but be serious when needed. Fandom Plagg has him more aloof as necessary for the wielder of destruction, and he doesn’t want to get attached.

    Final Thoughts

As we conclude our Kwami ranking adventure, it’s important to note that each Kwami brings a unique flavor to Miraculous Ladybug. Whether they’re charming us with their antics, guiding their Miraculous holders, or playing a pivotal role in the battle against evil, these enchanting creatures contribute to the show’s magical allure. While Plagg takes the crown as the best Kwami, every Kwami holds a special place in the hearts of fans, adding a touch of whimsy and wonder to the heroic journey of Ladybug and Cat Noir.

FanX 2022 SLC: Cosplays and Discord

Hello again lovely readers! If you’re in the US, you might know that last weekend was FanX(used to be known as Salt Lake Comic Con), held at the Salt Palace Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

This year was better than ever. Amazing panels, talented artists and of course, some of the best cosplays.

    monica rial

One of my favorite parts of FanX is the guest panels. There were TONS for anime, actors/actresses for every genre you can think of. You readers might enjoy knowing Monica Rial was one of them. She’s known for being the voice actress for Tsuu Asui (My Hero Academia), Lyra in Fullmetal Alchemist, Sakura in the English version of Tsubasa: Reservior Chronicle and Shiro in Deadman Wonderland.

There’s always the option to get photo ops with the guest stars (for a price) and to say hello. There’s also the panels that have a Question/Answer session, a cosplay contest and the event ended with a Dr.Horrible’s Sing Along Blog Sing-Along.

    Howl and Sophie

    Bryce Papenbrook: FanX

    Bryce Papenbrook FanX

Bryce Papenbrook is one of my favorite voice actors. Mostly because he’s the male voice for some of my favorite anime shows! He’s Chat Noir in Miraculous Ladybug:Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir, Kirito in Sword Art Online, Eren Jaeger in Attack on Titan, Rin in Blue Exorcist and Masaomi Kida in Durarara!! I could most likely write a blog post on him alone and the characters he voices. Attack on Titan and Blue Exorcist are some of the best animes ever made.

    Zelda and Link

    Stranger Things FanX

If you want to see even more of the awesome cosplays and even videos of some of the panels, head to social media and check out #FanX2022.

They did have some other awesome guest stars such as John De Lancie (Q in Star Trek and Discord in My Little Pony) as well as tons of vendors and panels for shows such as Arrow, anything Marvel or DC and Stranger Things.

Just 355 days until the next one! Cosplayers, get ready. Artists, you too! I know that FanX has always been one of my favorite parts of the year and this year was no exception. Can’t wait to see what next year brings!

  • Miraculous Ladybug Season 4: My Heart Breaks for Luka and I Want To Punch Gabriel Agreste

Miraculous Ladybug Season 4: My Heart Breaks for Luka and I Want To Punch Gabriel Agreste

Miraculous Ladybug season 4 spoilers if you haven’t already seen it!

Okay, so I just finished watching season 4 (except for part two of Risk as it’s being released in 2 days at the time of writing this article) and I have a LOT of feelings regarding this. For the past 2 days, I’ve been in a weird fandom mood where my heart is broken and a ton of emotions. It was similar to when I watched Chat Blanc. I couldn’t watch any more for almost a week. One of the perks of being in a fandom, I think. I know that Adrien and Marinette are endgame but Luka Couffeine is such a strong and wonderful character. Sometimes I think he might be better for Marinette since he can bring calmness in her life while she’s stressed and the weight of so many responsibilities are on her shoulders (at 14!).

Marinette and Luka Miraculous Ladybug Season 4

I love Adrien. He’s a pure sunshine child and also deserves happiness. But I think about how Chat Noir is who he truly wants to be and how he’s more active, spontaneous, and adventurous. While Marinette is also those things, I think she needs someone to help calm her down when she can’t handle all the stress she has in her life and when her anxiety makes her overthink everything.

The episode where Luka is so sad and says that Marinette is avoiding him since she knows he’s still in love with her…oh my heart. I cried. I wanted someone to hug him. Why can’t he just be happy? Marinette felt like a jerk because let’s be honest. Having pictures of your ex-crush when you are dating somebody shows that she doesn’t care about her relationship with Luka and she was with him cause he cared for her and she was trying to get over Adrien. A rebound is never the answer. I think Luka deserved better in that regard even though I think he and Marinette could be a great couple.

Why didn’t he tell her he knew and who does he end up with?

Also, I don’t know why he didn’t tell her that he knew she was Ladybug during Wishmaker. In my opinion, if he tells her, that will be a big relief for her since she won’t have to hide her secret. And I think that Luka would be understanding during their dates and they’ll just pick up where they left off. Is it because he thinks she’s in love with Adrien and just wants her to be happy?

    Luka miraculous ladybug

There’s been speculation that he’ll end up with Zoe but I haven’t seen enough interaction to see that yet. They’re both creative so they’ll have that in common. Also, Chloe even said Luka was cute in the season 3 episode Miracle Queen. Though I don’t think it’ll be Chloe. Thomas Astruc has even said that some characters just don’t get a redemption arc when he replied to a fan asking about Chloe. So maybe it’ll be one of them?

Miraculous Ladybug Season 4: Gabriel Agreste

Okay and now on to the world’s biggest jerk in animated history. Okay, maybe not the BIGGEST but at least top 5. We’ve seen in Oblivio and now in season 4 that anytime Adrien finds out, his father also finds out and uses it to his advantage. Uses his SON! He’s the reason that they can’t find happiness. And I want someone to punch him in the face.

gabriel agreste and Adrien miraculous ladybug

That man deserves no redemption arc. And I know I’m not the only one who thinks so. So many fans have mentioned this. The man’s neglected his son, he’s terrorized PARIS, and for what? Because he’s obsessed with his wife? No, he doesn’t love his son. He wouldn’t want him to die, but as we saw in Chat Blanc and Ephemeral if he has the option to emotionally manipulate the poor boy, he will. And Natalie has no problem with doing it as well.

    Natalie isn’t the best either…

I’m not sure about her. She’s in love with Gabriel Agreste but why? Doesn’t she know that Gabriel will choose Emilie over her if they do recover her? I know people do crazy things for love but they both take it too far.

Finally, we have the most ridiculous part of all. He’s willing to single-handedly KILL and TERRORIZE just to reach his goal. So many times people were turned to statues or killed in some way or almost killed. Sure Ladybug’s cure could fix it but that’s not Gabriel’s goal. He doesn’t WANT Ladybug to fix everything after she uses her Lucky Charm. Would the akumitized people stay the same or would he use them in different ways?

Not to mention, the wish to bring back his wife literally ends and rewrites the universe. I kinda wish Noroo would explain this to him but maybe he has tried and couldn’t get a word in, or possibly he doesn’t know? Though I don’t think it’s the latter since all the rest of the kwami’s knew about it. It seems likely that if history rewrites itself, Gabriel Agreste will die as well. When will the time period restart? To the beginning? The start of Gabriel’s life since he would be the one to make the wish? There are several possibilities and if that happens, life possibly won’t turn out the same, and he and Emilie might not even meet or have Adrien.

    gabriel agreste and Natalie

Final Thoughts on Miraculous Ladybug Season 4

What are your thoughts on Miraculous Ladybug season 4? There’s been up to 7 seasons with episodes to be announced but no official dates for them. I’m curious and excited about the other seasons, but also a little hesitant to see our lovelies get hurt. I still hate Gabriel Agreste and hope someone does punch him in the face. And I want everyone to get a happy ending. Except for Gabriel. He can rot in jail while Adrien does better without him. Also, another thought. Do you think the writers will confirm WHY Adrien and Marinette are meant for each other? They’re both written very well but in reality, anyone can be meant for someone. It takes so much work for any relationship. But maybe because it’s not reality that they have just one person who is THEIR person and that’s it. No deeper meaning.

Let us know in the comments below! As for now, I’ll be reading some awesome Miraculous Ladybug fanfiction to help fix my need to have everyone have a happy ending.

    As always,

    Keep Smiling!

Wait before you read this read these first if you haven’t. You will thank me later…

    “Marinette Dupain-Cheng!”

The said girl froze on the school stairs like a deer caught in the headlights. She slowly turned her head around to see who this angry voice belonged to.

Nino was furiously approaching her. She never saw him like that. Marinette couldn’t help but wonder what she has done to deserve his anger. The poor girl couldn’t recall.

“We have a lot to talk about, young lady!” declared Nino as he came closer. It was so unlike him that Marinette barely could snap out of her initial shock. What on earth was happening?

“Nino?” The bluenette gave him a very confused look. “What’s the matter?”

“You tell me! What happened between you and Adrien that you won’t even give him a chance to talk to you and explain everything?”

“It’s none of your business, Nino.” She let him know she didn’t want to talk.

“Then what has happened between you and Chat Noir, huh, Ladybug? And don’t think that you could present it as two different problems because they aren’t!”

“WHAT?!” The girl was beyond terrified.

“I asked you about your fight with Chat Noir. And yes, I called you Ladybug. There’s no way out until I can hear from you what’s the matter between you guys.” Nino was slowly calming down. “I suppose that you have no other choice than to tell me everything I wanna hear.”

Marinette blinked a couple of times.

“Okay then,” she sighed. “Guess I really have no choice… See, Chat discovered my identity a couple of weeks ago and he didn’t tell me he knew until I discovered who he is. He loves only Ladybug, Nino,” she said bittersweet, “not the girl behind the mask. Of course, how could I be anything more than a disappointment for him? It’s just… I love all of him, and he loves only one side… Though I doubt even that. It’s simply not fair for him to be with Ladybug if he doesn’t like her civilian self!” Marinette felt a tear streaming down her face.

    “…Dude.”

    “What?” She asked dejectedly.

    “Dude.”

“…?” She gave him a pointed glare.

“You’re wrong. Please let my man prove you wrong. It’s not an impossible request, is it?”

Maybe it won’t be so much harm in it, she thought.

    “… Okay. I promise.”

    “Adrien Agreste!”

The boy stopped dead in tracks and tensed his shoulders before turning around to the source of an angry voice.

Oh no. Not Alya. Everyone but Alya. Because this girl knew how to be scary, and now she was fuming. Adrien prayed to all gods to survive whatever Alya was going to throw on him.

“Here you are! Care to explain what happened between you and Marinette?!”

“I’m afraid it’s not your concern, Alya,” he answered cautiously. “I have to go now, so if you’ll excuse me…”

He tried to sneak off. Alya’s words, however, made him change his mind.

“And where do you think are you going, huh, Chat Noir? It’s not like Ladybug is waiting for you, because last time I checked, you were in the fight, just like with Marinette. Pretty funny coincidence, isn’t it?”

“W-What are you talking about?” he managed to answer.

“Oh, you heard me pretty well with all your cat hearing! Agreste, I’m so gonna kick your butt if you NOW wouldn’t take your ass here and explain! Me! Everything!”

He came closer with a look of a guilty cat on his features. You better not argue with Alya in this state.

“…Okay… Though I don’t like it at all!” Alya gave him a death glare. “Basically, it’s nothing to talk about: I discovered her identity a couple of weeks ago and didn’t tell her. Then there was this kiss, then she discovered my identity, then she thought I only love a Ladybug side of her, which is so not true! And she stopped talking to me and didn’t even give me a chance to sort this out and now she must hate me and we’ll probably never end up being together and…”

“Woah there, slow down,” Alya was less furious now. “Nino will get her to talk to you, so you’d better think of the points which should prove her wrong.”

    Adrien inhaled sharply.

“Okay, Alya, thanks, I guess?” She hummed something in appreciation. “I suppose you guys understand that secret identity is secret for a reason and are smart enough to keep your knowledge to yourself.” Alya shot him a ‘do-you-think-we-are-idiots’ look. “May I ask you though? How did you find out?”

“Oh, just. You never fight. And here you are, not even on speaking terms as both yourselves and your alter-egos. Honestly, if Nino didn’t mention this, your identities would stay secret. But, you know, that’s exactly what he did.” She smiled at the memory. “And not only that helped us…”

    /The previous evening…

“We need to get them to talk to each other! Now that we know they are our favorite superhero duo, we have a huge benefit! We need a good plan, Nino!”

“I’m afraid that once they hear about us knowing their identities, they would switch on their ‘superhero’ mode and threaten us not to tell anyone,” replied Nino. “And we still won’t get to the point and lose our benefit.”

“So what do you propose?” asked Alya.

“We should be scarier from the beginning. Like we are really furious on them for their actions, or better be said, for the lack of them. I hope it would work at least.”

“Maaaybeee…” Alya tapped her chin in thought. “But Marinette is used to me being angry, so I’m afraid it wouldn’t have the desired effect.”

“Oh, well then… Oh! Got it! Let’s switch roles. You’re talking to Adrien and I’m confronting Marinette! How does that sound?”

“Perfect!” His girlfriend broke in a huge devilish smile and leaned in to kiss him. “Come on, now that we are finished with our genius matchmaking, we still have time left for ourselves.”

Nino only supported her suggestion with another kiss./

Marinette bumped into Adrien in the hallway. With her own clumsiness, she wasn’t even surprised.

“Marinette, we need to talk, please!” Adrien called for her.

Well, she promised. Collect yourself, you don’t want to burst into tears or be easy prey for the Akuma because of a simple rejection; she thought.

“Okay. Look, I still want us to be partners no matter what. I realize that my behavior was inappropriate, and I’m so sorry. I never meant to hurt you, it was just really a lot to take in. Forgive me please if you can…”

“Of course, Marinette, my lady. I could never be angry at you. I understand your state. See, when I found out you were Ladybug, it wasn’t hard to believe that you indeed were one the same. You share a lot of common features, you know that? Everything that I love in Ladybug is also present in Marinette.” She looked at him with no expression on her face. “I love you, I really do, whether we speak about Marinette or Ladybug. I’ll do anything only to make you believe that it’s true. I love you.”

Marinette closed her eyes for a second and flashed a sad smile. She opened her eyes and stared at his. Just like two days ago, they were very gentle, comforting, kind, and had that warm green color.

“I believe you,” she finally whispered. And I love you. All of you. I was just so scared that you won’t love a plain girl like – mmmph!”

He kissed her with all love and adoration he could find. And when she responded with equal passion, he knew everything was going to be okay. The kiss turned into a hungrier one, it screamed ‘mine mine mine’ and clouded all his thoughts. When they broke the kiss, even Chloé screaming in the distance couldn’t ruin his euphoric state. Mine still echoed in his mind.

“Marry me,” he blurted out without thinking. Marinette lost her ability to speak. “That’s not..! It just slipped out, I didn’t mean… Only if you’re not against it! No! What I mean is -” The best way to shut him up was to kiss him, Marinette figured out.

Alya and Nino fist-bumped around the corner. This was (so not) a piece of cake, after all.

A/N: hey guys, this is over now! Tell me what you think! And please send me what country are you from if it’s not shown in your profile – I’m making a kind of ML fan map. (P.S. Not Another Stupid Dare: Chapter 3

If you missed the last chapter, you can read it:

    “Alya?..”

    “What, Nino?”

“Do you think we pushed them too far?”

“I… don’t think so,” answered the journalist hesitatingly. “He kissed her the second time on his own free will, didn’t he?”

“Yeah… You know, it looks like they are moving with their relationship a little TOO quickly. First kiss, then first fight already! I won’t be surprised if he’ll propose in the next few days!”

Though Nino meant it as a joke, knowing Adrien it was quite possible.

    “I wonder what’s the matter…” muttered Alya.

It was three days from their kiss in front of everyone, and now Adrien and Marinette wouldn’t even talk. Well, Adrien tried to reach for her, but Marinette avoided him at all costs.

Neither Alya nor Nino could understand. When Alya asked Marinette, she received only ‘he doesn’t love me’, and Marinette refused to provide her with any further details. When Nino asked Adrien, his only answer was ‘she is furious at me’, and the model didn’t bother to explain more.

    Their best friends were confused.

“Honestly, we’re so lucky that our relationship isn’t so complicated,” declared Nino, leaning closer to Alya. She pushed him back.

“Now’s not the time! We tied this knot between them, so we are up to untangle it! If only not for this stupid dare…”

“If not,” interrupted Nino, “they would probably never get together. At least now we have some progress!”

“Uh-uh. You meant regress? Because before they at least talked to each other!”

    “Babe, we’ll fix this, I’m sure…”

“How?” Alya was desperate. “We don’t even know the reason for their silence! Marinette claims Adrien doesn’t love her, Adrien states she is angry with him! And they won’t even explain this profusely!”

“That’s it!” Nino fist-bumped into the air. “Alya, you are a genius! The problem is in some huge misunderstanding, it’s not about feelings! So… We help Adrien and Marinette to sort everything out, et Voila! They are a couple,” he finished with a huge grin.

“Yeah, but you’re forgetting one tiny detail,” Alya was quick to disappoint him. “We know nothing about this misunderstanding.”

Patrol was difficult to start for Marinette. She felt betrayed. Why didn’t Chat tell her he knew her secret identity? Maybe he only loved Ladybug and Marinette was a disappointment, her mind whispered…

Ladybug landed on their usual meeting roof. She needed to collect herself. Needed not to be a disaster as her second identity, too.

A clawed hand softly landed on her shoulder. The heroine couldn’t even find the strength to move. Chat Noir hesitatingly sat in front of her.

“Marinette, my lady, why are you crying? What happened?”

She was crying? Huh, she didn’t even notice. Ladybug wiped off the tears with a gloved hand. Wow, she really cried a lot. The girl only hid her head in the knees.

“Go away, Chat. It’s none of your business.”

“But we are partners, we are supposed to help each other and sort our problems, my lady.”

Ladybug bit her lower lip. Deep inhale. Raise the head. Look your partner in the eyes. So green and soft and comforting and kind and… No! Not the time.

“There’s nothing to discuss, kitty,” she forced a smile. “You love Ladybug and not the girl behind the mask. And there’s nothing you can do about it.”

    “That’s not true!”

    She sighed.

“You don’t love Ladybug then? Expectingly since she turned out to be a disaster as her civilian self.” She stood up. “I take the east side of the city, you take the west.”

The heroine was off before Chat could stop her. Well, he thought dejectedly, if plan A didn’t work, it’s time for a Plan B: explain everything in civilian forms.

    “Well?”

“I’m thinking, Nino, don’t interrupt me.”

“But babe, you’ve been at the same point, like, an hour ago! Come on, either you have any ideas or you need a break,” Nino wiggled his eyebrows at Alya and leant closer.

“Okay,” she finally put everything that could help her with solving Adrienette mystery aside and leaned in to kiss her boyfriend. “But I also have Ladyblog to take care o-mmmph!” Nino silenced her with the second kiss.

“Ladyblog can wait for one evening. Besides, your favorite Ladynoir is not likely to happen.” Another kiss. “They got in a fight, just like our friends, and aren’t even on speaking terms.” A deeper kiss. “What is it recently between everyone to argue so badly? Neither Adrien and Marinette nor Ladybug and Chat Noir got into a serious fight earlier. Hell, neither of them ever even got in the fights! Except for the first day at school, of course.”

“WAIT.” Alya sat straight in her seat. Some gears were turning in her head, Nino could tell, as she incomplete mess started doing something on her computer. She opened the Ladyblog and chose the clearest picture of Ladybug and Chat Noir during one of the interviews. Clicked ‘print it’.

“Oh my god, oh my god,” she repeated under her breath. Then she scrolled through the saved photos, looking for something, and chose the picture where she, Marinette, Nino, and Adrien were posing in a ‘spy’ mode. Clicked ‘print it’.

When the printer finished its work, the journalist put two photos near each other and practically immediately let out a scream.

Nino’s eyes widened, and he put his hand on Alya’s mouth to stop her from waking all the neighbors.

“OH. MY. GOD.” Alya whispered-screamed once her boyfriend let her go. “Nino, look here.”

“Okay, so we have a picture of two superheroes and us pretending to be super cool superheroes. So what?”

Alya let out a muffled scream in frustration and took a pencil in her hands. A minute later she returned a picture of four of them to Nino. Adrien and Marinette had the masks sketched on their faces, and Adrien had an extra of cat ears.

    “Dude.”

    “Yes, Nino?”

    “Dude.”

    “What?”

    “You’re a freaking genius, but that’s impossible.”

“Why not?” She seemed offended. “Look here.” Alya scrolled through her pictures and proudly presented Nino a photoshopped Chat Noir’s suit on Adrien. Nino mumbled something inaudible. But Alya didn’t stop. She opened a photo editor, uploaded Ladybug’s photo and erased a mask.

Nino was at a loss of words.

“Okay,” stated Alya. “Now we at least can guess their problem. I’m so gonna kick their stupid aces!” she yelled angrily.

    Miraculous New York-United HeroeZ

Miraculous New York is a 62-minute special TV movie of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. Its U.S (and world) premiere was released on September 25, 2020 on Disney Channel.

FULL SPOILERS AHEAD INCLUDING THE MIRACULOUS MOVIE

To celebrate the friendship between France and the United States, Marinette’s class is traveling to New York City. Everyone is excited for the trip. However, Adrien is sure that his father will refuse to let him go. Determined not to let Adrien stay alone in Paris with Lie- Lila Rossi, Marinette declares her intention to speak to Adrien’s father and convince him to let Adrien go.

Gabriel Agreste sees a video of a necklace that Marquis de Lafayette gave to George Washington during the Revolutionary War and realizes it is a lost Miraculous: the Eagle Miraculous.

When Marinette comes to speak with him about letting Adrien go on the trip to New York, he doesn’t hesitate to permit Adrien to go. Since Gabriel is also going to New York to take the Eagle Miraculous, he won’t have to worry about explaining his absence, and he’ll be able to keep an eye on Adrien. As a viewer, we know it’s because he’s a douche-canoe and needs to leave. We see Kagami kiss Adrien on the mouth and Marinette kiss Luka on the cheek. As this is supposed to be set after season 3 but before season 4, we can conclude that they are a couple there. Unsure if it’s the first time or not. It didn’t look like a first time kiss.

    mlb kiss

This is a dream opportunity for Marinette and Adrien to get closer. Especially since Gabriel Agreste has accepted that his son take part in this trip. From the plane, the schoolchildren witness the spectacular intervention of four illustrious superheroes to neutralize a terrible villainous Techno-pirate who has just seized the reactor. Lady Bug and Chat Noir will join forces with the super heroes to defend the peace in New York and preserve the Statue of Liberty.

    Miraculous New York Trivia

    • Originally, this special was titled “Ladybug in New York City”.
    • The first concept art seen for “Miraculous New York” is almost an exact replica in structure to Pixie Girl‘s promotional art where Pixie Girl looks down on New York City.
    • The events of this special take place between season 3 and season 4.
    • This is the first time that Gabriel Agreste/Hawk Moth himself wants a Miraculous other than those of Ladybug and Cat Noir.
    • This is the third time the US premiered Miraculous-related content before other countries did. The first two being in Captain Hardrock and Ikari Gozen.
    • The space power-up is shown for the first time and the names for these forms are revealed to be Cosmo-Bug and Astro-Cat respectively.
      • Its also revealed that when Ladybug and Cat Noir power up, they don’t need to feed the power up potion to their Kwami’s, but instead can eat it themselves while transformed.

    EXTRA SPOILERS

This episode reveals the existence of another Miraculous, the Eagle Miraculous, and by extension, the Eagle Kwami, named Liiri. It also confirms that, while the Miracle Box is located in Paris, there are many more Miraculous that exist all over the world.

This also confirms that the Dormant Sentimonster created by Master Fu didn’t actually eat all the Miraculous (with the exception of the ones in the Chinese Miracle Box), as there are lost Miraculous spread around the world, having only eaten the ones existing at the temple at that moment.

Since one of the many duties of the Guardians is to watch over those they gave the jewels too and since not all of the jewels were eaten it likely hints that maybe not all of the Guardians were either.

With the Eagle Miraculous missing for over 200 years it could also mean that maybe the jewels and their holders aren’t always watched by the Guardians.

Some plot holes and questions from the show’s beginning are made clearer or answered in this special:

The Miraculous have an ability to magically disguise the identity of the wearer to human observers. However, AI are not affected by this, which is how Uncanny Valley was able to recognize Marinette’s and Adrien’s identities.

It is revealed that Nathalie lives in the Agreste mansion. It’s not clear whether she has always lived there or only does so because she’s bedridden from excessive use of the Peacock Miraculous.

According to Thomas Astruc, the first version of the script could have made a two hour movie. Story arcs were planned for Ms. Mendeleiev, Mr. Damocles and Chloé, but they had to cut a lot of stuff. Despite the story arcs being removed from the movie, it’s unknown if they’ll be used in future episodes or not.

She’s one of the few who could tell/see through the miraculous disguise and know the identities of Chat Noir and Ladybug.

    mlb sp miraculous new york
Barbara Keynes also known as Knightowl, is a superhero in the United States. Also Sparrow’s Mom.

Yes, dialogue was rushed. Like at the end it didn’t take much for Sparrow to convince the other guardian to make a new team.

    I definitely want MORE, hahaha..

I liked that it was made known that they’re still made for each other. And Adrien was totally into Marinette in this film. Dancing with her, sharing food with her, all the little moments that he went out of his way to make happen. Sigh. Definitely on the last point about the guardian. They put so much effort into little things, like the miraculous box being authentic, but skip large chunks of necessary dialogue. It’s frustrating.

Marinette being true with herself about her feelings for Adrien was awesome.

Also, back in Paris, Adrien didn’t seem too thrilled to be staying behind with Kagami, haha. Then he was really excited when he got to go and was sitting next to Marinette.

I think there was a slip up with Adrien renouncing Plagg. He should have gone back in the ring until someone put it back on, but he was in Marinette’s purse. Seems they are bending the rules there.

So what do you guys think of Miraculous New York? I thought it was pretty good. Not like “best Miraculous Episode ever” levels. But it was really good. I enjoyed the marinette and adrien moments even though the show left me with more questions than answers.

  • Miraculous Villains: Who Was the Best?

Miraculous Villains: Who Was the Best?

Miraculous Villains: Who was the best? There’s no question that Miraculous Ladybug has had some pretty cool and pretty WEIRD villains. And while we’re all waiting for the reveal to happen and season 4 to FINALLY come out after the craziness of the world, here’s a fun little list of miraculous villains. I should note that Hawkmoth is not on here, nor is Volpina. Because I hate them both too much right now.

    Dark Owl

    miraculous ladybug villians dark owl

He was one of the few that almost won! Despite the somewhat silly costume, we got the almost reveal. Unsure whether Tikki and Plagg already knew who each others charges were but they certainly do know now.

    Stormy Weather

    stormy weather

Stormy Weather is by far the best, so awesome she has the skills to become a main antagonist. I mean, being able to control any type of weather is cool enough but she could inflict serious damage on people. Her abilities make her one of the best miraculous villains.

    The Mime

    mime miraculous ladybug

He has a very cool power and his design is dope. Also he carried almost the entire Eiffel Tower on his own! He’s easily the strongest foe Ladybug has ever faced, and if this weren’t a kids show, he’d be even more terrifying.

    Mr.Pigeon

Just because it said “Best” doesn’t mean the villain wasn’t funny but pure evil. So I say Mr.Pigeon Is the most funniest goofball in this. I mean screw all the other miraculous villains! This guy got akumatized 23…no! 25 times!

    The Evillustrator

    The Evillustrator

Quite possibly the most powerful of all the miraculous villains. He can draw ANYTHING, including nuclear bombs, giant asteroids, unstoppable tanks, you name it, and it becomes real! And can erase anything he wants from existence! Talk about overpowered! And just awesome in general!

He needed to realize just how powerful he could be! He could have drawn an army of evil Ladybugs, or erased Ladybug’s lucky charm! The possibility are literally endless.

    Copycat

    copycat miraculous ladybug

L’ Imposteur or Copycat is a villain from the French show, Miraculous Ladybug . A villain with a power to impersonate people, especially Chat Noir . His civilian self is Theo Barbeau, a sculptor who has crush to Ladybug . His akuma is contained on the newspaper article that he use as an inspiration for his sculpture. Considering how much I already like Chat noir, it was easy to include Copycat in this miraculous villains list.

Related: Marinette and Adrien: Do they end up Together?

    Timebreaker…(best miraculous villain?)

Timebreaker (Chronogirl in French) is an akumatized villain from the show Miraculous Ladybug. Her power is absorbing people’s energy to make her stronger. Her civilian self is Alix Kubdel.

Alix/Timebreaker is arguably the most powerful character in Miraculous. Although the Miraculous are pretty powerful, their abilities are honestly mainly enchanted objects and superhuman strength/agility. Alix can kill with a single touch, not just kill in fact, erase you from existence and use your vital force to make her stronger. She is deadly fast, strong, agile and has the ultimate power: time breaking. Although Evillustrartor, Inverso and the Sandman are pretty overpowered, Timebreaker and Horrificator are really the only unstoppable villains, because they grow stronger on what makes you weak. They also really have it in for everybody, not just seeking revenge or love.

    The Puppeteer

    The Puppeteer

If she was an adult she would be so close to winning. Manon was freaking scary in this. Being able to control more than one miraculous user at once is almost unlimited power. Can you imagine if she had the Hawkmoth doll????

Puppeteer DID control Cat Noir, but Ladybug had the upper hand – Puppeteer is just a kid, and when she fought her, she was in a room surrounded by possible weapons.

    Simon Says

    simon says

Pretty much has the ability to make other people obey him. he can also make others work for him or even stop them from moving. He broke through Gabriel’s security, and we’ve all seen how intense that is! He is one of the few akumatised miraculous villains who almost achieved their goal.

    Sandboy

    miraculous ladybug sandboy

And in my opinion, facing your fears is the hardest thing of all.
He brings peoples nightmares to life

    The Pharaoh

    pharoh miraculous ladybug

I just look at all the powers, given to him by the ancient gods, and I can’t stand it. He just has to say the name of a god and gets amazing powers.

  • Not Another Stupid Dare: Chapter 2

Not Another Stupid Dare: Chapter 2

A new fanfiction done by marykayle ! This is just the second chapter. The last 2 will be posted later. Go ahead and enjoy!

Why? Was the only question spinning in Marinette’s mind that evening. Why did Adrien Agreste kissed her the second time immediately after her request? She didn’t know

Because Adrien Agreste was Chat Noir, who loved Ladybug, was not the answer someone could offer her. But adding ‘who accidentally discovered her identity a couple of weeks ago’ would definitely help the case.

An accident was something you could expect. Because if you have a feline partner with an unexplainable love for rooftops and if you’re about to detransform into your civilian self, you should remember not only looking around, but also checking the upper levels.

Being an embodiment of bad luck, Chat Noir was actually surprised that he didn’t fall off that damned roof right on the spot.

It didn’t take so much to get used to the knowledge. After all, it was not hard to believe that his lady and his brave Princess were one the same. However, when he looked at it from Adrien’s point of view… They were nothing alike, judging by the character.

So Adrien decided to keep his secret to himself.

Of course, he was in panic when he heard Nino’s dare. He didn’t want to push himself on Marinette. He was afraid she would never forgive him. When he told Plagg about it, the kwami only chuckled, claiming that Adrien was the most oblivious person in the world.

For goodness sake, he couldn’t figure out what Plagg meant.

The kiss with her was as amazing as he imagined. She tasted something delicious, he couldn’t understand what exactly, she smelled like fresh baked treats, and she was an amazing kisser. She didn’t even protest, though he was afraid she would slap him for the invasion in privacy and hate till the ends of her days.

However, when Marinette blurted out that magical ‘kiss me better’, everything clicked. Adrien didn’t even hesitate before kissing her for the second time that day.

Now he was lying on the couch in his bedroom with the only thought: what’s next?

The next morning was hard for both of them. Neither could bring himself to look at the another.

    Marinette was shy.

    Adrien was angry.

Angry with himself, of course. He could never be angry with his lady without any reasons behind. It was unfair, he thought, for him to know her identity, and for her not to. It was unfair that while he loved both her sides, she still liked only Adrien.

    She needed to know.

No, she would be angry that he didn’t tell her sooner.

    But she needed to know.

But she would be angry. Ugh.

That’s it! The thought striked him. He’ll let her figure his identity as if by accident. Than it wouldn’t count. And he had to do it quickly. Adrien thought he couldn’t bear much time with things like that.

    Think, he encouraged himself.

The opportunity presented itself during the lunch break. The teacher asked him to help her with a huge pile of books. Unfortunately, the amount of the said books limited his vision pretty much, so no wonder he bumped into the doorway. The books went flying to the floor with the papers on top of the pile. Adrien wasn’t careful enough, and one of the sheets left him a scratch on the cheek. It wasn’t too deep, but the angle was nearly ninety degrees, which made the scratch quite noticeable.

Only when his classmates showed deep concern, and Marinette especially – she examined the injury for a solid minute, helping to reduce its visibility, – he saw it as a dead giveaway of his identity.

Adrien couldn’t wait to start the patrol.

When Ladybug joined her partner, the scratch was the first thing that she asked about. He honestly told her it was just his luck to be cut like this by a sheet of paper and watched her face as she slowly made the connection.

Recognition. Connecting the dots. Disbelief. Surprise. Shock. The world turning upside down. Flashing memories. Denial.

    Wait, what?

    He needed to interfere.

“What’s up, my lady? What is so shocking about the cut? It’ll be okay in a couple of days, I purr-omise.”

    “Ad-Chat. It’s nothing, let’s start patrolling.”

“But my lady, something is definitely bothering you!” He couldn’t believe she won’t tell him ! But, from the other hand, he didn’t, either.

“Chaton, it’s okay. Just some civilian stuff.”

“Maybe I could help you? Since you’ll be avoiding revealing details?”

Ladybug seemed to doubt. Finally, she gave in.

“Okay, so there’s a boy in my school I really like.” She paused. I hope it’s me, he thought. I hope I was not mistaken. “And yesterday he kissed me. Not because he wanted, it was just a stupid dare.” Oh thank god. Not that I doubted. Nope. “But the thing is, he kissed me once more later. Without any pressing matters. I hope it means he likes me, but I’m confused. Today he didn’t even speak to me…”

“But of course I like you, my lady,” blurted out Chat. “Never doubt that.”

She glanced at him with utter horror on her face.

    “How long have you known?”

Only here he realized what he said. But there was no backing up now.

“Umm… Maybe for a couple of weeks?”

“And you never told me…” she whispered, launching herself away.

“My lady, wait!” Chat tried to stop her, but it was in vain.

He sat on the roof. What made her THIS upset, that she won’t even talk everything out, he wondered.

Realization dawned on him like a bucket of ice water.

“My lady… I called her my lady the entire time, and now she thinks I like her only because she is Ladybug…”

    Chat Noir stood up.

“Marinette, I’ll prove you that I like the girl behind the mask on her own.”

Even if it was going to take quite an amount of efforts to reach the girl in denial. He’s a hero, after all, he’ll manage. Hopefully.

    Chapter One

    “No.”

    “Yes.”

    “No.”

    “Yes.”

    “Nino, choose another dare!”

“Nope. You lost the bet, Adrien. You owe me a dare.”

    “Yes, but not this one!”

“Why not? Does kissing Marinette disgusts you so much? You were not opposed to kissing her when we were making a film. What changed?”

“Nothing! It’s not that I don’t want to kiss her, I don’t want to do it in front of the entire class! If you dared me to simply kiss her, I would have found the opportunity and apologize later. But this? Not only when everyone is watching, but with a follow-up cheesy line?! She is extremely shy around me, this only will completely ruin her attitude towards me! I still want to be friends with her, Nino!”

Adrien and Nino were arguing like that for about five minutes. Adrien lost a bet – it was silly, really – which Nino provoked him to take. Of course, it was his and Alya’s common idea to help their two friends get together, and they found what seemed to them a good solution.

“Fine,” sighed Adrien at last. “I’ll do it. Why Marinette, anyways?”

Nino smirked. “Dude, do you want it to be Chloé instead? I can arrange that…”

“NOOO!” Adrien screamed in horror. “Anyone except Chloé!”

“Aren’t you even a little into Marinette?” asked Nino with concern.

    Adrien blushed and said nothing.

Marinette was running late. Again. Of course. It didn’t even surprise her. She burst in the classroom and tripped over her feet, falling right between the teacher and Adrien’s desk with a quiet ‘oww’. Her classmates smiled at her clumsiness, several tried to suppress giggles. But not Chloé, obviously.

“Ohh, Sabrina, look, poor Marinette, always tripping over nothing, how does she even survive? So pathetic!”

“Chloé!” snapped Ms. Mendeleiv at her. She turned her attention to Marinette. “Come in, take your place. Try not to be late the next time, or you’ll receive an hour detention after classes.”

Marinette silently sat near Alya, who patted her on the back.

“It’s nothing, girl, just ignore her as usual.”

“It’s not that, Alya,” sighed the bluenette. I tripped in front of Adrien. He must be thinking I am a complete clutz and ends up avoiding me at all costs, and we’ll never get married and have three children and a hamster!” She dropped her head on the crossed arms too hard with another ‘oww’.

Chloé couldn’t miss such a chance.

“Second time in two minutes, Marinette? Must be a new world record of your super awkwardness!”

Ms. Mendeleiv once more shushed the blonde. Nino elbowed Adrien.

    “Hey, dude, remember the bet?”

“Yeah, yeah,” reassured him Adrien. “I’m just waiting for the right moment. After all, I wouldn’t fulfill your dare in the middle of the lesson!”

Finally the bell rang. Adrien mentally prepared himself for inevitable. Just as he was about to raise up and come closer to the girl, he heard Kim’s voice behind.

“Hey, Marinette, we are up to another challenge with Alix. Do you want to come and watch? Maybe you could draw some awesome banner for the event?”

No, it wasn’t flirting. Neither there were any romantic intentions, just a simple friendly request. However, Adrien already knew that in these circumstances he would seem very jealous and possessive of Marinette for no reason at all. But he also knew that he had his courage only now.

Marinette merely had time to respond ‘sure’ before she spotted Adrien. He was definitely approaching her. Oh god, her mind screamed, he is coming to me, what does he want?

    “A-Adrien?” she stuttered. “Wha…”

Her words were interrupted the most pleasant way possible. Adrien didn’t even give her time to finish before capturing her lips with his.

Marinette stood for a second frozen in shock, then started to respond, fully into the kiss. What is happening, she internally screamed. ‘It’s Adrien and he is kissing me!’ was the thought in the corner off her brain. But FAMILIARFAMILIARFAMILIAR was the only thing circling in her mind, though she was 100% sure they never kissed before. This is not how I wanted this to happen, was her last clear thought before Adrien broke the kiss.

Marinette felt like she was going to faint. Adrien, seemingly deciding to help her with that and spin her mind completely, winked at her.

“Hey, Princess, guess I simply couldn’t resist your charms!” he declared with a huge grin on his face.

The girl’s legs betrayed her, and she collapsed (by mere miracle) right on her seat, looking at the model with wide eyes, not daring to blink. However, he was already gone back to his seat and started writing something very quickly.

The rest of the class was silent for another several moments, and then they broke into cheers. Both teens chose to ignore the others. It was pure luck that Chloé went to the bathroom with Sabrina to fix her hair and didn’t get to see the whole encounter.

Marinette still was in shock when the bell rang. She wasn’t paying attention to the lesson or to anything around her for that matter until Adrien slipped the note to her with the most adorable apologetic expression.

    She unwrapped the paper.

‘Marinette,’ it read, ‘I am extremely guilty and extremely sorry for this. The thing is that I lost a bet to Nino and he was very persistent for me to fulfill exactly this dare. I don’t know the reason behind it, and I apologize sincerely for forcing you into this. Please forgive me and Nino for that matter.’

The note contained tons of crossed out lines. The bluenette smiled to herself – despite this being a stupid dare, she got the chance to kiss Adrien and he obviously cared for her judging by the efforts he put into the note.

Adrien was innocent, she decided. Well, not completely, but still, she couldn’t find the strength to be mad at him. Nino, from the other hand…

When the final bell rang, Alya and Nino inconspicuously excused themselves and left the classroom with the speed of lighting. Marinette was still utterly confused, so it took a lot of time to gather her belongings. By the time she packed her things, she was the only person left in the classroom. Well, practically the only.

Adrien Agreste was patiently waiting for her.

“Marinette! Look, I’m so sorry! Maybe I could make it up to you somehow?”

“Kiss me better,” she blurted out what was on the tip of her tongue without even thinking as the words automatically flew out of her mouth.

Before she could even process what she just said, his lips were on hers.
