Ghost of Tsushima

Sucker Punch Productions are at it again after giving us titles like Last Light and the Infamous series, they are making Ghost of Tsushima another vast open world packed with gameplay opportunities, they plan to create a completely different and better experience. Though it will be very different from Sucker Punch’s previous games in many ways, Ghost of Tsushima will bear one similarity to inFamous with its third-person perspective; controlling a samurai called Jin.

Set in 1274, Ghost of Tsushima casts players as one of the last remaining samurai as he faces the ruthless Mongol Empire. To succeed, you will have to cast aside traditional samurai methods, and the codes that govern them, in favour of stealth and deceitful means. This means Ghost of Tsushima is essentially a story about the birth of the ninja probably.
The game will have a huge open world. Specifically, the setting will be the large island of Tsushima, located off the coast of Japan. Tsushima is a geographically diverse place and the game’s trailer shows that players will be able to travel from lush forests, to rugged mountains and towns filled with interesting characters. And looking at the trailer footage it looks likely that the player will do the majority of terrain traversal on horseback

Although Sony and Sucker Punch haven’t outright said Ghost of Tsushima will be released in 2018, it’s believed the game has been in development since 2014, when Infamous: Second Son and Last Light launched. That means it’s been in development for around three years, so there’s a good chance the game will launch in 2018.

Update: There isn’t any big news surrounding Ghost of Tsushima at the moment, but we do know that Sucker Punch is hiring for a QA Lead at the moment. This person will assist the development team in quality checking and helping to make Ghost of Tsushima “a great game.” With this recent job listing, we do wonder if Ghost of Tsushima will have a 2018 release date as has previously been rumored. 2019 seems more likely.
