Ladies and gentlemen! Readers of MyAnimeGo we have done it again, we’ve been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award for the third time by the naturist aniblogger Fred.
You made my day! There is no monetary prize, no plaque hung on the wall or trophy to adorn a mantlepiece. But the warm, fuzzy feeling that I get from knowing that you the readers and my fellow bloggers enjoy our work… we are so very lucky, humbled and grateful.
Thank you.
Last time I was nominated by two amazing bloggers, Tcrow and Objavio Hikari.
You can read that post here:
Which technically makes this my second nomination since I did those two together (I was nominated individually on but their blog, so this is my third award). Moving on, this time though I have the honor of being nominated by Fred this time around, who reads my blog and thinks my little corner on the internet is worth being nominated again. Head on over to his blog about anime, nature photography, hiking and the wilderness. Go check it out!
So if this is your first time here, you might be wondering what is the Sunshine Blogger Award.
What is the Sunshine Blogger Award?
The Sunshine Blogger Award is a peer recognition award given to those who are creative, positive and inspiring, while spreading sunshine to the blogging community. It is passed from one blogger to another, and each nominee passes the nomination on to 11 of their favourite bloggers to keep it going.
So what are the rules of the Sunshine Blogger Award?
- Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link to their blog so that other people can visit them
- Answer the 11 questions put to you by the nominator
- Nominate 11 bloggers of your choosing and provide them with a new set of 11 questions to answer
- Notify the nominees by commenting on one of their blog posts
- List the rules and display The Sunshine Blogger Award logo within your post or on your blog site
So the first rule has been done, on to the next one!
Fred’s 11 questions
What is your favorite old anime, say pre-2000?
That would be Rurouni Kenshin, also known sometimes as Samurai X or Rurouni Kenshin: Wandering Samurai.
Rurouni Kenshin is an amazing anime that takes place in the Meiji Period of Japan, about a wandering samurai trying to atone for his past. It was the anime that made me want to be a samurai when I was little.
Rurouni Kenshin is an anime with a little bit of everything. With amazing battles, mystic sword styles, comedy, drama, lovable and well developed characters. It is definitely one of the classic shounen anime series that every anime fan should give a try.
Who is your favorite anime musician and what music is their best?
That’s a tough one but I will pick… (K)NoW_NAME for this question.
I absolutely love (K)NoW_NAME, they do a fantastic job of creating songs that are just perfect and I just can’t stop listening to them. Here’s one I really liked;
What anime OST is your favorite?
It’s not an anime OST but I really love Shinsekai (BUMP OF CHICKEN) X LOTTE 70th anniversary. The visuals, the story and the music is always fun to feast my eyes on.
What anime had a brilliant idea but was executed poorly?
No. 6
Maybe it is because I am a sucker for anime characters with white hair or maybe it was because I was still coming down from my Tokyo Ghoul phase. I was expecting No. 6 to be this action filled anime, with mystery, suspense, cops and robbers, and a moral dilemma were right and wrong wasn’t so white and black, but was I wrong.
The protagonists in No. 6 could have been removed and the story would have still gone the same way it did, that’s how badly they didn’t affect the plot. But I heard the novel and the manga is better. After my experience, I have lost all interest in No. 6. The plot had real potential but sadly to be it never went down the proper routes.
What anime was a really bad idea but was executed brilliantly?
Ghost Stories
Ghost Stories was a failed anime that followed a group of friends trying to solve simple mysteries, aimed at kid viewers. So what makes it a really bad idea but was executed brilliantly? The best dub ever.
The dub adds really adult jokes, breaking the fourth wall and constantly taking jabs at itself to create one of the funniest dubs of all time.
Tell me about the anime you really love but has a terrible MAL score?
Vampire Holmes
Vampire Holmes is an anime that felt like it was gunning to take the spot of the worst anime ever, and even though it failed to take the top spot, it placed. With a poorly written plot, poorly animated scenes and straight up in your face ads on every episode to play the mobile game. It is an anime that really makes you want to get into the mind of the screenwriters behind it, to try and understand how they all sat down and came up with this.
You can wave a magic wand and make an anime trope disappear from all future anime. What is it and why?
Honestly I have thought about it and…. NOTHING it’s the good, bad, amazing and terrible anime tropes that brings all of us together as a community to chat about the things we love and don’t love. So I am not invoking Fairy Law.
Pick your favorite director. They have asked you to give them the plot for their next anime. Summarize it.
Ryôsuke Nakamura
Summary
A futuristic fantasy cyberpunk world, where humans, demons, aliens and all manner of beings cohabitate in a somewhat peaceful arrangement.
