  • Who Does Haruhi Belong With? Ouran High School Host Club

Who Does Haruhi Belong With? Ouran High School Host Club

We usually know how different manga and anime can be. Fans of Ouran High School Host Club weren’t too happy with the ending of the anime.  Haruhi and Tamaki fell into a HUG instead of a kiss at the end, causing many fangirls to scream.

Despite the different endings in the manga and anime, who did YOU want to end up with Haruhi?

Well, most of us know who Haruhi’s ending up with, but I personally am also a Kyouya Ootori fan. Out of all the characters of the Ouran High School Host Club, he’s the only one I could properly match up with Haruhi. Haruhi’s smart. She’s there at Ouran Academy because she’s an honor student. Kyouya Ootori, like Haruhi, is an advanced thinker, therefore, he needs someone like Haruhi, who is another intellectual like him. I think it would allow for better communication for a serious relationship.

Also, Haruhi can quickly see past the “cool and uncaring” front Kyouya always has up, I think Kyouya needs someone that can dive into deeper water instead of just going with shallow appearances and status.

When I picture Haruhi with the other characters, I tend to find a lot of reasons why they should not be together, which is why I believe ultimately, Kyouya suits her best.

    And the Others!

Tamaki, the second-best candidate, is much too dramatic and flirtatious. He also flaunts his money and status… a lot. Although Tamaki occasionally has a shining moment or two where he acts like a normal human being I just don’t think he fits Haruhi’s personality. I get the whole opposites to attract thing… but in a real-world situation, they wouldn’t always work.  Basically, I think that Tamaki is a fun fling for Haruhi, but when it comes down to it… can I see them in a serious relationship? No way. For high school… maybe… for a serious life partner… I just can’t picture it.

As for Mori or Honey, well… they’re together. You can’t exactly have her paired with either because that means they’re not together. And how could you possibly break up such an adorable couple? It’s ironic because the creators actually intended for Haruhi to end up with Mori. I LOVE Mori-sempai as a character and want him to be happy, but I think he’s gay for Honey.

Now as for the twins… I’ve just never ever considered them serious candidates, they act more like brothers towards Haruhi than anything, even though Hikaru shows interest and Kaoru grudgingly accepts it. This is shown more in the anime than in the manga, but their character development does help them more.

Wouldn’t it be cute if the twins found a set of female twins that they fell in love with?

One of my favorite fanfictions (I’ve mentioned this before) is a Karou and Haruhi pairing. This ultimately sold me to be on one of the twin’s sides.

Each of the Host characters has such special places in my heart. I can’t really hurt any of them and I wanted all of them to end up happy. Since Haruhi ended up with Tamaki, I fell into the Kyoya and Renge ship. I mean, she’s just a complete otaku and I think she could keep him on his toes.

What do YOU think? Who is your favorite pairing/ship here? Let me know in the comments below!

I’m Still Here…Thoughts on Angel Beats

Angel Beats is about an afterlife in which a group of dead students refuses to move on to the next life. This is usually because they have some sort of peace to make with the world and themselves. There’s a unique mix of common school life against the supernatural. It’s a setting that I found to be original enough; I also expected it to be a simple tear-jerker, but that isn’t the case.

Angel Beats has a duality about it. One part of it is a comedy – most of it is well-timed, and on several occasions, had me laughing out loud at my screen like a nutcase.

The other part would be the melodrama. Most of the important characters have a backstory to them, which is revealed piece by piece. And, as to be expected, many are depressing. Their common theme seems to be ‘regrets’ – especially those of teenagers struggling with family, society, and life in general.

    Thoughts on Angel Beats

    Problems with Angel Beats

angel beats review. best anime series cute anime

There is never a really good explanation for why they’re fighting Tenshi. They make her out to be evil incarnate at first, but quickly find out that she’s actually a normal girl. Yet rather than do their research, Yuri somehow convinced everyone to build an underground factory and stockpile weapons.

One of the first things Yuri tells Otonashi is that he should just go with it, and accept things as they are. I’d like to think this advice goes double for the viewer… Turn your brain off, because this story doesn’t make a lick of sense. Now, don’t get me wrong here, a fictional story doesn’t have to make sense to our universe. It has to make sense according to its universe. With nearly every single story element, we get an explanation of what it is, an explanation of how it works, and a direct contradiction within three episodes time.

In an early episode, Yuri explains that they have to be careful and keep all conversations about their plans under wraps because they don’t know whether or not Angel can hear them. Well, in only a few episodes’ time, they’re nonchalantly discussing their plans right on the other side of the classroom from her.

Other smaller Issues with Angel Beats

The other students who weren’t brought here from another life are called NPC’s, and while they’re supposed to turn a blind eye to the Battlefront’s antics, they show up in droves to a GirlDeMo concert and line up for a monster fish meat give-away. The former of the two examples was pointed out by one of the characters. As a matter of fact, a lot of the inconsistencies in this show are pointed out by the characters, as if the writers thought that making the script self-aware of its own flaws would somehow make up for those flaws.

We’re introduced to important details that quickly become forgotten, plot points that are almost immediately made pointless. And the only explanations they ever stick to are the ones that sound like complete cop-outs.

    A LESSON FOR EVERYONE

Angel Beats is truly a meaningful anime. Yes, it has issues but there’s more to it. It’s about moving on and accepting your fate. It’s about fulfilling your dream, even if it doesn’t happen the exact way you expect it to. There are times when your life may seem over figuratively, but there will always be a chance to follow your dream. The lesson is to not give up hope and to continue striving for what you want, even if it isn’t in front of you.

And do you want to know the absolute worst thing about it? The worst thing about this anime is that it is physically impossible to not enjoy it. It is relentlessly fun to watch.  The overly complicated plot comes with a surprisingly simple, albeit poorly constructed, story. The humor isn’t as spot-on as it probably should be, but it’s inspired enough to keep you laughing just often enough.

  • Diabolik Lovers…Try Not to Kill the MC

Diabolik Lovers…Try Not to Kill the MC

If you’re wanting to watch Diabolik Lovers, I would suggest playing the game ONLY. I would rather watch Twilight for a better vampire story. Seriously. It’s that bad. Still, I promised a review…so here goes.

The Story…If You Can Call It That

At the behest of her father, Yui Komori goes to live in rape mansion, home to the six Sakamaki brothers—Shuu, Reiji, Ayato, Kanato, Laito, and Subaru—a family of vampires. Though at first the siblings are confused as to why the girl has arrived, they soon realize that she is to be their new “sacrificial bride,” not to mention their other, more carnal intentions for her. Also known as sexual rape.

After meeting the brothers, Yui quickly begins to question why her father would have sent her there. I’m wondering why he hasn’t been arrested yet. Child Protective Services should have been involved earlier.

Pretty much you will just be vomiting your brain cells out the entire time.

The story is overall ridiculous. Almost nothing gets explained. The main female character, Yui, is treated in such an awful way it’s actually painful to think about it. She gets molested and told that she’s worthless basically every time any of the vampire brothers talks to her. Even more so, not only Yui does Yui do absolutely nothing to stand up for herself, she actually starts CARING for the psychopathic brothers.

Obviously, though, she’s not the worst character in Diabolik Lovers. It’s the vampires who basically abuse Yui throughout these 12 episodes who bother me the most.  Even though they were supposed to be hot and mysterious, something went horribly wrong, because they came out just gross.

Do not let the beautiful artwork fool you.

The show is full of sexy vampires to draw you in and the episodes are 12 minutes each, but don’t let this persuade you to watch the show.

You would expect a girl getting sexually harassed by 7 vampires a day would leave when given the option, but nope. Yui makes it seem like she wants to be in these predicaments. She pathetically tries to get away but gives up within the first few seconds. Not a strong leading character at all.

Laito, one of the vampires, is a very annoying character. The show would have been slightly less terrible if he wasn’t in it. Almost everytime he is in the scene he calls Yui “Little B****” It is very annoying and I wish he would just shut up!

I was sure the story would revolve around how the vampires start to like Yui one after one. I came to realized that this wouldn’t be the standard reverse harem story once Yui was bitten by a vampire. So I set my hopes on the other vampires. And I was totally wrong. They are a bunch of masochists that like nothing more than torturing Yui and kept her around only to suck her blood.

You will be coasting on the art for 3 or so hours telling yourself the plot will get better. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t. You keep waiting for it to pop up and it almost doesn’t until the end. Then you wonder why they even bothered to add one in because it is god awful. What you will be getting is 3 hours of continuous torture.

    Characters

Yui is a mediocre dunce who is having a really difficult time realizing these dudes are just scumbags. Every time she approaches a guy she is shocked that he soon after sucks her blood. She has no spine so she usually lets him have his way with her after which she runs off scared only to come back and repeat the process. One vampire, the only tolerable one, even gives her the opportunity to leave but she stays to try and figure out the plot.

Almost every single male character in Diabolik Lovers makes my skin crawl because of their treatment of Yui.  I take an issue with Yui because of the fact that she’s a walking doormat who just sits there and takes the abuse. Considering the fact that I also happened to grow up under circumstances where I was exposed to quite a bit of domestic abuse, it’s no stretch of the imagination to think that seeing crap like this unfold IN ANY MEDIUM is enough to make my blood boil.

You’ll spend most of your time yelling at the characters or throwing things at the screen.

Regardless, you WILL wonder how you managed to watch all 12 episodes of Diabolik Lovers in one sitting.

    Final Thoughts

One thing I have to say: I read a summary before watching the anime and it sounded a lot more interesting than what actually happens. And that is the whole problem with this series. I think there might be actually material for a story somewhere, but the whole anime was distorted so much that it’s barely noticeable anymore.

Have you had to suffer through this show already? Or have you played the game? Let me know in the comments below.

What Shugo Chara Taught Us About Life

    Life Lessons From Shugo Chara

While the concept of Shugo Chara is a Mahou Shoujo(magical girl) anime show, there are plenty of cute moments that make the show worth watching. It’ll make you laugh, make you cringe, but most importantly…it stays with you.

    shugo chara

    What’s it About?

Amu Hinamori is a student at Seiyo Elementary, where she has a reputation for being “cool and spicy”. However, her real personality is that of an extremely shy and easily intimidated girl. One night Amu makes a wish that she would have the courage to be reborn as her “would-be” self. The next morning Amu finds three brightly colored eggs on her bed. Each egg eventually hatches into a Guardian Character: Ran, Miki, and Su. Guardian Characters are angel-like beings that aid a person into becoming their “would-be” selves and fulfilling the person’s dreams.

The Guardian Characters accomplish this by giving encouragement and advice, but they can also temporarily change a person’s personality and abilities. With the Guardian Characters, Amu’s life becomes much more complex as she now struggles to deal with her new personalities and the Seiyo Elementary Guardians—a student council group where each member has their own Guardian Character—who recruits Amu to search for and seal the X Eggs and X Characters, corrupted forms of people’s dreams.

    shugo chara

I found this series to be a breath of fresh air. As I mentioned earlier, there is a mirage of emotions that you’re going to feel when watching this anime.

The story moves along nicely early on, introducing us to the world and the characters while explaining origins and backstory. What was maybe the most surprising to me was the depth of the romance and relationships part of the story. Considering the ages of the characters, I was initially a little wary of watching. But I was surprised to find Amu to be a very complex character with a lot of emotional depth. She grows tremendously as a character from the beginning to the end of this season.

But it does have a  nice message and some good romance. It’s not just about blasting away the enemy, it’s about a young girl’s confusion over her true self, something that a lot of people can probably identify with. It’s one of the best life lessons that Shugo Chara could teach us, and the anime shows it in tremendous ways.

    shugo chara

    What’s Wrong with It?

However, It’s not without its faults. One of the most glaring is the number of recap or filler episodes throughout the series.  Stories that did nothing to advance the overall plot in any way. For filler, they were not bad stories and a lot of them did serve to let us get to know the series’s huge cast. But really the most annoying was the amount of it after the main plotline from the second half was concluded. It felt a bit anti-climatic and was disappointing to have to sit through 7-8 episodes before the season finally concluded with something involving the main storyline.

The cast is enormous. Normally I would say this is a major drawback but in this case, it really wasn’t. The key to the whole series is Amu and her guardians. For me, Amu has already moved into my favorite anime characters of all time. She is someone I think every girl (and boys too I think) will find something to relate to themselves. I think her internal insecurities and her outside persona and the struggle to be accepted by society yet still be true to yourself is something that will resonate with viewers. Her conflicted heart over her romantic feelings for various boys and her own lack of confidence over her own “true self” I believe will also strike a nerve. In a lot of ways, I think she is the most “real” anime character I’ve ever seen.

    shugo chara amu and ikuto

    Conclusion for Shugo Chara!

Overall, it’s a good anime to watch. It’s been compared to great anime like Cardcaptor Sakura, and Sailor Moon, and while I wouldn’t go that far, it is definitely the best Mahou Shoujo anime in a while and it does have the appeal to span multiple ages (I’ve encountered fans from ages 10-30).

    Date A Live Review

    Date A Live Quotes

    What’s it About?

Thirty years before the events of Date A Live, an enormous explosion devastates east Asia and kills 150 million people. This is the first known “Spacequake”, a natural disaster that has since become commonplace. Fast forward to the future. High school second-year Shidou Itsuka lives alone with his little sister while their parents are away.

While rushing to save his sister from a sudden Spacequake, Shidou is caught in the blast and finds a mysterious girl. It turns out that this girl is actually a Spirit, a powerful being from another world whose arrival devastates the surrounding area. Thankfully, Shidou is rescued by an anti-Spirit strike team… led by his little sister.

This vicious task force is locked and loaded, ready to exterminate Spirits. But this violent method is not for Shidou. He discovers the one way to neutralize these Spirits peacefully: make them fall in love.

Here’s the Parody of the Plot

At the center of Date A Live is the protagonist Itsuka Shidou who is tasked with the role of dating invading entities. This, of course, leads to him quickly developing a harem of various personalities, for which Shidou has his command center assisting him from afar. There is no such thing as going too far in Date A Live.

After Shidou conveniently encounters two ladies fighting one another, he finds himself waking in the headquarters of an anti-Spirit organization, which is led by his younger sister, Kotori.  Kotori proposes her master plan to Shidou: prevent the Spirits’ destruction by making them fall in love with him.

Funnily enough, this premise is actually one of Date A Live’s few redeeming points. It’s self-aware and does not attempt to be anything more than silly fun. Some of the best moments are when Shidou attempts to swoon the girls with cliched lines, only to be met by awkward silence and/or violent threats. Date A Live prides itself in absurdity.

All in all, Date A Live is an absolute mess of a story…albeit an entertaining one.

    Characters in Date A LIVE

Contains a few minor spoilers for those who have not already watched Date A Live

    Shido Itsuka

Adopted into the Itsuka family household at a very young age, Shido has been living a fairly average normal life. At the start of the series, he accidentally stumbles into a new world. Discovering the real reason behind the spacequakes, Shido was brought into the secret organization that his little sister commands.

With the only explanation from Kotori being that only he can save the Spirits, Shido reluctantly joins. Going about with his normal life and rescuing Spirits is one thing, but with each new Spirit to save, there is always some type of hardship on Shido’s mental health. Especially since he has to deal with the opposite gender, with which he does not have much experience dealing.

    Kotori Itsuka

She is Shido’s adopted little sister. Kotori is also the commander of a secret organization known as Ratatoskr that deals with extraordinary beings known as Spirits.

Kotori has three different personalities depending on the situation at hand. As a human, her character changes according to the color of the ribbons she’s wearing. While wearing white ribbons she is of her “weak self”, a delicate little sister who is very dependent upon her big brother. When wearing black ribbons, she becomes her “strong self”, a charismatic leader able to successfully command the airship, Fraxinus. According to Reine, the Kotori with white ribbons is the one that can honestly say how she feels.

In her Spirit form, Kotori acts the same as her ribbons’ current color indicates. If she stays in her spirit form for too long, her third, “Spirit personality,” takes over.  She then becomes an aggressive and merciless killing machine.  She is best described as a sadist when in this state.

    Tohka Yatogami

When Tohka first appeared on Earth, she came under attack by the AST. That was also the same day Shido encountered Tohka and discovered the real reason behind the spacequake incidents.  During Tohka and Shido’s conversation on their second encounter, Shido gave Tohka her name. During their third meeting in which they went out on a date, Tohka and Shido established a bond. It was during this time that Tohka had her powers sealed by kissing Shido for the first time.

After her powers had been sealed, Tohka’s mental state was still unstable and could go off at any moment. This was mainly due to her emotions which she didn’t understand. But, thanks to some consultation from Reine, Tohka was able to better control her feelings of jealousy regarding Shido.

    Tohka’s Personality

When Tohka first appeared on Earth, she had a cold, and emotionless demeanor. She was very wary of humans due to her being constantly attacked by the AST. However, after Shido sealed her powers, she could finally develop feelings, as well as experience life on Earth. Because Tohka is new to everything, she has a very cheerful and child-like personality. This can make her seem naïve, emotional, energetic, and gullible at times. She easily becomes excited at seeing all the things on Earth. Origami has used her naïve nature against her on multiple occasions. She usually needs one of her friends to point out to her when she is being tricked.

It has been shown several times that Tohka has a decent level of sensibility and common sense towards the battle, which arguably is the only thing of which she has any real memories. During her battle with Origami in her spirit form, she was able to analyze Origami’s new powers quickly and came up with the best way for her to counter them. This expertise could also be the result of her constant battles with the AST until she met Shido.

    Yoshino

When Yoshino first appeared in the series, she encountered Shido. To him, Yoshino seemed to be a lost child wandering around in the rain. The next time they met, Yoshino fell under attack from the AST and ran away. During the third time, Shido decided to save Yoshino from herself and the AST. This decision was because he discovered that Yoshino was an incredibly kind child who didn’t want to hurt even the people who were attacking her.

When she appeared in the world, her Spirit powers would cause it to rain. Because of this, Yoshino had very little contact with others. Instead, she constantly had to run away from the AST, who were always trying to kill her.  All of this caused Yoshino to become withdrawn and very lonely. In her loneliness, Yoshino unconsciously used the puppet on her left hand to create another personality named Yoshinon. Yoshinon embodied the person she wanted to be, strong and not afraid to speak her mind.

    Kurumi Tokisaki

Kurumi Tokisaki had used unexplained methods to transfer into Shido Itsuka’s high school. Her reasons for moving were simple: consume Shido Itsuka, and gain the Spirits’ mana sealed within his body. During the time Kurumi was a high school student, she almost succeeded in consuming Shido.

Later, it was revealed that Kurumi had a conversation with a mysterious being. Here, she said her real goal was to seek Shido out to be able to use her 12th bullet to travel 30 years back in time and kill the First Spirit. To accomplish that, she required a significant amount of spirit mana, which is why she wanted to consume Shido.

Kurumi is a person whose character is difficult to read. She possesses a  dislike of humanity that borders on mistrust. She is a skilled actress, capable of putting on the facade of an innocent, curious young girl when she needs to.  However, under that mask lies a madwoman, prone to fits of insane laughter and possessing no regard for human life.

    There’s More to Her Character…

    There’s a reason she’s a fan favorite of Date A Live though.

The people that she murdered were would-be rapists and animal abusers. Another good sign of her sense of justice lies in her ultimate objective. That’s to go back in time, kill the First Spirit, and prevent the spacequakes from ever happening. This would save millions of lives in the process.

Kurumi possesses some degree of innocence that her psychotic behavior has not entirely ruined. She has a soft spot for animals and other creatures. Kurumi once slaughtered four humans not because she needed to replenish her time, but because they were trying to kill a kitten. She also appeared to have some desire for a normal life, as Shido was able to speak with one of her many timelines and nearly convinced her before the true Kurumi interrupted.

However, despite the fact she doesn’t kill without a reason and her redeeming qualities, Kurumi doesn’t seem to think of herself as a great person. When Shido stated that he would not give up on her despite her being a murderer, she responded by using her City of Devouring Time on the students of Raizen High School. She even summoned a spacequake which could have killed them all, in an attempt to make him give up on her.

    Origami

Origami is a top student in her school in terms of academics and sports. She is a very skilled wizard but can lose herself in her emotions when it comes to dealing with Spirits in combat.

For unknown reasons, Origami is romantically interested in Shido. Her devotion towards him causes her to develop stalking habits such as sniffing his gym clothes. Shido is also the only person not related to any military institutions who know that Origami is part of the AST.

After finding the truth of her parents’ death, Origami suffered an emotional breakdown. In this state, Origami is completely unresponsive to everything around her.  The New Timeline Origami eventually inherits her identity after resolving her emotional issues.

  • Masamune Kun’s Revenge Review

    Masamune Kun’s Revenge Review

While sick one day, I was scrolling around and looking for more anime to watch. That’s when I came across Masamune Kun’s Revenge and the synopsis intrigued me.

As a child, Masamune Makabe once suffered greatly at the hands of a wealthy and beautiful girl named Aki Adagaki, who nicknamed him “Piggy” due to his chubby appearance. Seeking revenge against his tormentor, Masamune works hard to improve himself and returns as an incredibly handsome, albeit narcissistic, high school student. When he encounters Aki once again, he is prepared to exact vengeance.

With the aid of the rich girl’s maid, Yoshino Koiwai, Masamune slowly begins to build his relationship with Aki, intending to break her heart when the time is right. However, as his friendship with Aki begins to grow, Masamune starts to question the objectives of his devious plans, and if bringing them to fruition is what his heart truly desires.

First, our characters. Our male protagonist is Masamune Makabe…honestly, I never found him to be that narcissistic though he definitely acted that way in a few scenes. In one moment, he commented on the fat content and carbs in every meal. And he had to work out constantly. One line that stood out to me was when he did eat food, he mentioned having to do an extra 100 crunches that night to work it off.

    Seriously?

Then we have Aki. She’s kind of a jerk. For most of the first episodes, that is what she is, complete with “cute” segments, such as her eating 3 meals a per lunch to compensate for her metabolism or something. She is also terribly wishy-washy, asking for a kiss and then freaking out and uppercutting him. It just seems a little inconsistent.

Also, can we talk about her hair for a moment? It’s been bothering me. I know that this is an anime and all, but even hair THAT long has to be annoying.

She does shine for me in some instances, but a lot of these character moments are also her weakness. She is self-aware of her personality and acknowledges at times that she does not know why anyone would want her, demanding Masamune’s reasons for choosing to date her, then reasonably being hurt when Masamune comes up with crap reasons. Then, there are similar moments, when she tries to justify her current personality for what has happened to her in the past.

This would have been great if she changed, but for the most part of the anime, it isn’t an earnest improvement, but brought on by the plot. The change is so sudden that I wonder if Aki is the same person, which then boomerangs back, and literally, nothing has changed at this point. You had 12 episodes, what is with this lack of development?

There were a lot of moments when I wasn’t sure what was actually going on. I mean, the anime was called Masamune Kun’s Revenge, but it kept going back and forth on what the characters were actually feeling. Was it he going to get his revenge? Were they falling in love? And why did they keep changing their minds?

Now, they did have some cute moments. Personally, I loved the whole Romeo and Juliet scene. It showed a little more character development and I really thought the anime was going to end in a better way. But I’ll get to that in a moment.

    Masamune Kun’s Revenge…or Not?

First for Gasou, oh poor, poor Gasuo, pretending to be Masamune. Apparently, he is a rival for Aki’s affection, despite the truth later being found out. The difference being, that his intentions were expected to have actually good consequences for people besides himself, even if the deception requires taking advantage of a girl, who hates men because she thought the very same Masamune had left her….causing her to hate men? Okay…sure. That makes sense. Not.

Not to mention Aki wants to marry this imposter off the bat, despite supposedly never seeing each other for years? No offense anime, but for love to blossom right where it picked off….because?

    Nope. Not buying it.

    Masamune Kun’s Revenge Ending…

I disliked the ending, but the fact that nothing comes from it within 12 episodes is why the ending is so jarring. If there is any change that would happen, it would be here.

It subverts its “Revenge” tag entirely, something that the anime made obvious in the last 4-5 episodes, leaving only the question “Who caused it”. This is a major plot point over the course of several years for the protagonist that doesn’t get resolved in any way except that “She did not do it”, thus leaving forgiveness out of Masamune sorting his feelings for Aki.

And they don’t end up together either. Which they kept hinting at the entire season with a will they or won’t they? It’s just open and it infuriates me more than anything. Still, I enjoyed this anime and only screamed a few times in frustration. I’d give it a 7 out of 10.

Have any of ya’ll already seen it? Let me know in the comment below!

  • Will Ouran High School Host Club Get a Second Season?

Will Ouran High School Host Club Get a Second Season?

Will Ouran High School Host Club get a second season? Fans of this comedic and romance anime have been vying for a second seasons for years and now it might just be possible!

I would be surprised if you haven’t already heard of Ouran High School Host Club. I grew up watching it and find it just adorable. It’s one of those anime’s that make you laugh, cry, and shake your head and question why you’re even watching it. However, there seems to be a lot of speculation regarding if there will ever be a season two.

I disliked the ending of the anime. It felt so incomplete! And I mean…it’s Kiss Kiss Fall in Love, not HUG HUG Fall into Friendship! And I’m sure all you Ouran High School Host Club fans feel the same way. But if for some reason you HAVEN’T heard of this anime before, let me give you a brief rundown of its awesomeness.

The plot of the anime revolves around a young girl, Haruhi Fujioka, who is a student at Ouran Academy. The Academy is a high school for rich kids. One day she stumbles upon Music Room 3 of the school, where she finds that the room is used by six male students to entertain female students of the school. During the encounter with the host club, she accidentally breaks a vase which costs 8 million Yen. In order to repay it, she becomes a member of the host club, and her masculine attire and posture make it easy for her to look like a boy. She gains quite a popularity amongst the girls due to a natural disposition towards the gender and her entertaining instincts.

    OHSHC Fandom

The anime originally ran in the year 2006 and it has been more than 10 years since it ended, therefore it had very rare chances of continuation. But the announcement created by Bisco Hatori may have caused the fandom to start to wonder if there was going to be a second season. She didn’t say too much, but all of it confirmed that Ouran HighSchool Host Club season 2 would keep fans guessing. Soon after that, in April 2016, one of the English voice actor of the show, Todd Haberkorn, posted a video where he said that the production team contacted him for the Ouran HighSchool Host Club season 2 and they will soon start working on it.

Well, ya’ll, it’s 2018 now and when I followed the links and sites to where they “said” this was happening…it turned out to be a prank. A mean, not very happy-making prank.

Update: It’s now 2020 and there’s still be little word other than a possible remake of the first season.

BUT! There is still hope for Ouran High School Host Club fans.

If you didn’t like the way the anime ended, you can read the manga that has a way better ending. The manga is complete and fully translated and there’s an 11 episode live action series and a 105-minute live action film that was made after the anime. If the anime wasn’t enough there’s plenty of other Ouran material. There’s some pretty good fanfiction for it. You can try “Duet” by MoonChild that’s a Tamaki and Haruhi pairing. Or Broken and Healed that’s a Haruhi and Karou pairing.

Fun fact, did you know Bisco Hatori initially intended for Mori and Haruhi to end up together?  Weird, right? I’ll stick with Tamaki and Haruhi for now.

Anyway, I’m going to go read more fanfiction so I can get over the need for the anime to have a better end. Or go watch some anime that can help with this depressing mood.

  • Are Kaoru and Hikaru Actually INFJ’s?

Are Kaoru and Hikaru Actually INFJ’s?

Are Kaoru and Hikaru Actually INFJ’s?

While watching episode 20 of Ouran High School Host Club, I had an interesting thought…were Hikaru and Kaoru actually INFJ’s? The episode focused on the Hitachiin twins when they were first asked to join the Host Club and their past before.

Kaoru and Hikaru had a game that they played called “Which one is Hikaru game“. Naturally, as identical twins, not many people could guess correctly. In fact, in the anime history, it was just Tamaki Suoh and Haruhi Fujioka who guessed correctly.

They mentioned that they were inconsistent. That they just wanted to be noticed but left alone. And that actually falls right into the category for being an INFJ. INFJ’s are CONSTANTLY inconsistent and contradictory with their emotions and thoughts.

Out of the 16 Myers-Briggs personality types, INFJ type is believed to be the rarest. These uncommon jewels of the personality spectrum make up less than one percent of the population.

One of the things that differentiate INFJs from other introverted types is their easy and pleasant conversation style. They are known for being great verbal communicators.

To most friends and acquaintances, the INFJ type seems very sociable and extroverted. This can cause confusion when INFJs become overwhelmed and must withdraw from people. In truth, INFJs are just like other introverts in the sense that they are very selective with whom they consider real friends.

You would think an extroverted person would do this.

Like other intuitive introverts, INFJs sometimes struggle with external sensing perception. This means that they can become so absorbed in their inner world that they are oblivious to the physical world (now this I can relate to).

Hikaru and Karou are mostly only in their own little world until Tamaki invites them to the Host Club.

Just like INFJ’s, Kaoru and Hikaru have a tendency to think…

    • Everything they do is wrong, although they had good intentions.
    • They beat themselves up about it for ages afterward
    • All they want, really want, deep down, is to be loved and love someone in return
    • They feel depressed because they think they’re too different to be loved.

The rarity of their personality type makes a lot of INFJs feel like they don’t fit in. The twins often feel left out and just want to be accepted. In a way, isn’t that what we all really want?

What do ya’ll think? Are Kaoru and Hikaru INFJ’s? I’m 100% in agreement with this fan theory! Let me know in the comments below.

    Favorite Quotes From the Episode:

“We wanted to be told apart; we didn’t want to be told apart.”

“But you mustn’t forget that you’re also independent beings of course.” It may be inconsistent, but it’s who you are. That’s what you call individuality”. Tamaki Suoh

“I’m not up for being disappointed again”

“We wanted people to know us but we didn’t want to be known. We were always looking for someone to accept us. But there’s no way that anyone would ever accept anyone as surely as we were.”

12 Anime You should be watching this 2018

Hello everyone, HAPPY NEW YEAR, thank you for following us and all the love and if you are like me you are probably wondering what you can or should be watching this year 2018. So Yo! D101 made a list of upcoming anime this season and there is a lot to expect this year.😊

    So let’s gets started on our list of what you should be watching this year ;

    One Punch Man 2

In 2015 season 1 of One Punch Man ended and it really left on a high note and it’s been over two years since then. For those who haven’t watched it you should, it follows the story of Saitama who wants becomes a hero for fun and he is the strongest hero ever in his universe so far.

    OPM fans have been refreshing pages every day on new about a second season and the wait is finally over, we are getting a second season. But there as been a change in the staff members, the series will be animated by J.C.Staff instead of Madhouse, some people are worried about this but I don’t think you should, J.C.Staff havery some good animations to their name like;

A certain magic index, Railgun, Golden time, Shokugeki no Souma and a lot more, so I think we are in good arms. So they have what it takes.  So let’s wait for all the comedy, action, super powers, Si-Fi and seriousness. Whatever you are looking for OPM as a lot to offer.

Shingeki no Kyojin Season 3 and Movie

Its a manga by Hajime Isayama, its finally coming a season 3 but not before the third movies a recap of what happened in season 2, so for any one who missed out you can watch that. This time we didn’t need to wait so long.
I know some might have been discourage by season 2, which were just 12 episodes and not 25 like the first season, Levitation didn’t have much scenes and it mostly felt like filler episodes to me most have the time. But it had some good parts, like finding out Ymir was a titan or the biggest shocker to me that I watched an thought maybe there was a mistake in the translation, was when Reiner Braun and Bertolt Hoover who had fought with everyone through the hell that is Shingeki no Kyojin world, turned out to be the Armored Titan and Colossus Titan took sometime to sink in for me but in the world of Shingeki no Kyojin, you only have like a minute to absorb it in and react.
Maybe that’s one of the many reasons why we love it, it follows Milo Murphy’s law, anything bad that can happen will happen and at the worse possible time. I really feel no character is safe from getting the axe, cause in the world they live in anyone can die in the blink of an eye.
I read a bit of the manga and the action will be coming this season more than ever, and this season should be longer than 12 episodes, so expect a lot from season 3 of Shingeki no Kyojin.

Boku no Hero Academia 3rd Season and Movie

Last season,  we saw how One For All functions a bit more, Midoriya taken on the Hero Killer Stain, with Todoroki and Lida, learn a bit more about a villian, All For One and if the manga as anything to say of how season 3, will be it’s going to be packed full with a lot of action and excitement.
If you couldn’t wait like me and took a peek at the manga, it will cover the School Trip Arc and can go beyond because there is enough content for a season 3, 4 and maybe even more. Let’s hope we get more episodes this season.  I really enjoy Boku no Hero Academia but I was sceptical at first but I see it going really far, even the creator would like to show them to the point of our heros maturing and showing their lifes as pro heros, so let watch and see but I think we have another manga like Naruto that will eventually branch to their children taking  over.
Another thing to look forward to is the movie, not much is know yet except that it won’t be a recap movie but delve into the backstory of an unknown character, in addition to featuring the character of class 1-A, showing new a character’s origins. So that something to really look forward to. And I can’t wait.

Nanatsu no Taizai : Imashime no Fukkatsu and a Movie

It took 3 years but we finally got a second season, it’s coming back with full force with a season 2, a movie, and a PlayStation 4 game. It will still be produced by A-1 Pictures.
They seem to have gotten their holy weapons back and it seems they will be facing the demon clan this season, so expect a lot more insane fights this season and lots of laughs. Its going to be great.
Season 1 covered the first 103 chapters, so I think season 2 will pick up from there and cover up to chapter 197, and the movie could pick up for then, with a third season to start from chapter 219. So far no information on the movie as been let out.

    Tokyo Ghoul:re

Tokyo Ghoul is back and this time the story picks up Two years after the CCG’s raid on Anteiku. Things seemed to have changed in Tokyo, ghouls continue to pose more of a problem as they have begun to take action, especially the Ghoul terrorist group Aogiri.
A special team as been created the Quinx Squad, they are humans that have undergone surgery, giving them special abilitiesof ghouls and they might just be what the CCG need to eradicate the ghouls. The leader of the group Haise Sasaki, half-ghoul, half-human who had been trained by special class investigator, Kishou Arima. But unknown memories trouble the leaders mind, slowly reminding him of who he use to be.
Its great we are getting a season 3, but while people are worried about the director and really worried about the script, season 2 was really bad to me and didn’t portray the characters well and greatly differed from the script.

But am reading the manga at the moment and it can get confusing, so the animate characters if done well could explain a lot of things, that get confusing with the massive amount of characters, we have in the story. Guess we will just have to see how it goes, but hoping for the best cause am a fan of Tokyo Ghoul.

    Fairy Tail  (2018)

Since 2006, after 175 episode TV series, a 102 episode sequel, 2 OVA and 2 film, a side story novel and several spin off manga Fair Tail is coming to end. Its another long running shounen like Naruto to get an animated end. Most got nothing like Reborn, Bleach and with endless hiatus Manga like hxh, grayman and others only wonder if some will get.

Hiro Mashima revealed on his official Twitter account that the final season of the series will premiere this year, but don’t be afraid this might not be the end of your beloved series, as like Naruto, it might just be the end of one characters story and the beginning of another. He said he doesn’t think Fairy Tail is done just yet, that he still has a lot of plans and we should look forward to that.

Am really looking forward to the new season, hoping for a better plot this season cause last season seemed to get just up and down the place to me after a while, and I was just watching at a point because I had gone to far to just stop watching Fairy Tail.

Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu OVA

I really want to scream WHY OVA ! WE WANT A NEW SEASON, they are keeping us this interested, and it’s understandable I guess White Fox has their hands completely full right now, with Steins;Gate 0 and the Peacemaker movie, but hopeful maybe we will here something after the OVA airs.
The OVA should either be about the side story where Subaru gets pissed that there no Mayonnaise, in this new world he is in, so he tries to make one from scratch.
                                                              Or
It could be to fill the time gap between episodes 10 and 11, because a lot of event after the events of the dog attack in the village was skipped that that show how Rem and Subaru got so close, for people that complained about it.

    Date A Live 3rd Season

My guilty pleasure is finally back, after two series adaptations in 2013, 2014 and a film in 2015, now this year Date A Live is back for a third season.

The anime should cover volume 8-11, it’s been so long I hope this new season will be better than season 2 that seemed rushed and let it lose most of its popularity.

The light novel as brought the popularity back for Date A Live and I thick IMS are more prepared now to create something really good, this time around

The series has already been adapted into two TV series (one in 2013, one in 2014) and a theatrical film (in 2015) with direction by Keitaro Motonaga and animation by Production IMS. Let’s hope they get it rightthis time around.

    Terra Formars OVA

Finally the OVA adaptations of the series Earth Chapter that should have been released with volume 21, that was delayed indefinitely will be out this year.
So we can expect a lot of action, excitement and maybe a 3rd season after this OVA. Looking forward to this.

Peacemaker Kurogane Movie 1 : Omou Michi

Refresher it follows Ichimaru Tetsunosuke who is traumatized by witnessing the murder of his parents, making him want revenge and for this he needs strength and at age 15, he joins the Shinsengumi against his supportive brothers wishes, Tetsunosuke. He soon realises he lacks the skill, mind and emotionless cut out for the job. To become strong he will have to become a demon.
I was so happy when I heard it was being brought back as a two part anime film, this time who will see our protagonist as a young adult which will be a new angle we have not seen him in yet. It will be release on June 2, 2018 and the second part in the fall.
The film has a stellar cast and the old voice actors and actresses are coming back, so I have know doubt we are in for a treat.

    Made in Abyss 2nd Season

So far this as not been verified as coming out this year, but I really hope it does, realistically it might not be until 2019 or 2020 before getting a second season.
At first I won deed by it was rated 17+, but the anime is really harsh and ruthless to its characters. The graphics are very beautiful and you really feel like you are immersed in the world, to the moe drawings of the characters that you hate at first, but end up falling in love with.
This was pretty inevitable that it would get a second season, but it’s confirmation was so fast. This is a first from Madhouse that don’t do sequels but Made in Abyss broke that trend. And from what I read in the manga, we are in for an even more exciting season 2 when it comes out. Fingers crossed that it comes out this year.

    Persona 5 the Animation

The anime will follow the video game closely, about a rebellious group of teenagers in Tokyo who form the Phantom Thieves of Hearts to rebel against the corruption in the land, the protagonist will be named Ren Amamiya, different from the manga series where his name his Akira Kurusu.  Its coming out in spring of this year.
When it comes to Persona anime, its never been really impressive but this was my favourite Persona game so am looking forward to the anime, but I have my doubts on how much will have to be cut out of the original material to fit into 24 episodes. Hope it comes out great but either way I get to see my favourite game animated so its a win for me either way.
Hope you loved my list and would love to hear from you, if you think an anime should or shouldn’t have been added to the list,  I want to hear. Please remember to share and like us.
