Momonga spends his last few moments in the game as the server begins to shut down to his surprise despite the clock having struck midnight, he is still in the game and the NPC have also developed personalities. So now he commands his loyal servants to help him investigate and take over the new world he is in and maybe finding other players stuck in the game like him.

I had my reservations about it coming in, thinking it would be generic and the same old same old, but it differs in the sense that the protagonist is the antagonist and I felt this was new and creative.
The art and music were a good combination, matching themselves brilliantly and the characters were great and a good combination, complementing each other.

It’s slow-paced at the beginning but picks up as the show goes on, and unlike other shounen anime where the main character powers up and defeats his enemy, Shiroe is not like that, instead of With his strategic approach to battle, he’s usually in the background controlling the flow of battle, getting him the nickname “villain in glasses”.
It’s not your typical show, I especially liked how realism in the world of fantasy was added into Log Horizon, it’s not a perfect show but it was enjoyable to watch.

There are some harsh reviews out there about this fantasy anime, and some point out some far-off points, but I believe that even if the plot and characters were not the best, the art and sound get high marks. But you have to admit it is enjoyable; the pacing was off, and the time skip didn’t help its cause.
With SAO, you will either love this fantasy anime or hate it.

I loved it because I felt it was something new and creative, with a detailed plot and a well-developed cast. It was fun to watch from beginning to end.

I had my doubts about this anime but I was glad I gave it a chance the only real problem with it was it was only 10 episodes in the first season, there was very little relevant plot and it sometimes promised to be going somewhere with the plot but yet never does but to be that was one of the things that made it better, it was refreshing and I couldn’t stop laughing till the very end.
It was pure joy watching its characters were all funny and awesome, the animation and art were gorgeous and the soundtrack was amazing too. With genuinely hilarious jokes, any flaws this series has are easily forgotten. It will cheer you up and is great for a new anime watcher, you won’t be disappointed.

I finally got around to watching this and it was very definitely worth watching and became a guilty pleasure for me, it was not the most well-written story but it just works, maybe because of the ton of clichés and fanservice, the pacing can also be sometimes questionable but even so it never fails to entertain. The setting is within an MMORPG game world, the difference this time is that instead, to them that’s the real world for our character and it functions like a game. Gaining experience points, earning loot, leveling up, gaining skills and magic.
Bell is a very new and refreshing protagonist, he’s not a typical imbalanced protagonist, nor a generic shounen hero relying on the power of friendship to save the day, but he is extremely shy, innocent, and a very kind-hearted person who does care for those around him and help them anyhow he can, even if it puts him at risk himself and this makes him very relatable.
Danmachi gives you much more than you would expect when watching it and I love that about it.

The show was quite a unique watch and made me want more shows like it the environment, and background felt hand-drawn and were very beautiful and warm. Character growth felt natural and was not unrealistic 0 to 100 time frame, they failed, succeeded, laughed, and cried, they felt like real people’s faults, limitations, and all, and I just loved every moment of it.
They balanced everything out wonderfully in this anime from reflection by characters, which was interesting to watch and not boring with you wishing it was over already, you enjoyed watching them on the battlefield and in their daily lives. There is group development and not just solely an individual’s development, no character is neglected and we get to see how they all live roles, and reactions to events, and this is all balanced out very well. It can be seen as slow-paced because of this but it’s so well done you will end up not minding the pacing, because there is a reason for this, and it’s a good one.
Hai to Gensou no Grimgar can be seen as a slice of life with a combination of realism and narrative showing the characters’ lives and relatively slow progression makes it easy to watch and follow. The sound is just as great as the Art of this anime, also helping convey the mood and story.
It’s a must-watch fantasy anime but I hate it’s just 12 episodes, I think it deserved more, as we don’t get to see the new developments in the characters at the end of episode 12 being used.

Parasyte…”What makes a human? What makes a monster? Each of us has a bit of both in us, and it’s up to you which one you want to be“.
I got bored one weekend and decided that I needed to binge-watch an anime that isn’t my typical type. Parasyte or Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu was one of those anime shows I’ve completed in a day. I would have been dying to wait for each episode each week if I watched this when it aired. Now, normally, I would go for the classic romance anime or a slice-of-life but I’ve been trying to branch out and watch other genres…which lead me to this horror anime.
Parasyte: The Maxim (Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu)
When speaking with others online about Parasyte, the most common piece of criticism I hear that keeps people away and those who don’t want to watch is that it’s “not my genre,” it’s “overrated” or “it makes my stomach turn while watching some scenes.” And I agree with two of those things. The first few seconds of ParasyteALMOST had me turning it off and putting on something else. But I don’t agree that it’s overrated. If you like shows like Deadman Wonderland or the non-animated show Squid Game, you’ll probably like this one. It has a morbidly curious inflection on it that makes you want to watch more. I enjoyed both Deadman Wonderland and Squid Game so, despite the gore, I did like the anime.
So…what’s Parasyte actually about? Well, we have a case of alien invasion by mysterious beings who can infect us through parasitic means. No big deal right? Ha, wrong. By inserting themselves into a human’s brain, the parasites can take full control and transform you into a monster, even SPLITTING your head open. Sounds terrifying right? That would have been the fate for our main character named Shinichi until one parasite goofs up and fails his mission. Now they share a single body but with separate personalities. Because of course, they do and I doubt the show would have been as interesting if they would have just kept it at that. Well, okay, maybe it would still have been interesting but I like this direction more.
Anyway! The show decided to have a plot twist and have the organism develop its own intellect in Shinichi’s right arm and is named Migi (which is Japanese for right and is the same voice actress as Lucy from Fairy Tail).
What makes this series’ story stand out quite a bit is that it shows the best and worst of what humans can do while also balancing out how parasites can behave. The parasites don’t just kill without a second thought (though there are a lot who certainly do) but also help the human race. I think it does show that there are good and bad parasites just like there are good and bad humans. It’s just like the quote I put in the beginning…we CHOOSE which we’re going to be.
Back to the story…ahem
Shinichi develops quite a bit throughout this show. And not just in his glow up where he Neville Longbottomed us. Shinichi’s experience of fighting alongside Migi turns him into a warrior beyond someone who just wishes to protect others. His change is reflected physically and also at an interpersonal level as he becomes less and less human himself. From an ordinary kid with a timid personality, in the beginning, Shinchi becomes a changed man who is serious, humorless, and pessimistic.
Also, be aware that the show has tragedy. More than just all the death, Shinchi’s losses in life expands beyond just losing important people around him. It shows that he can’t save everyone. While I hate that it does that (I always want the happy ending) I find it a good thing that the show does do this. It gives it a bit of realism, even being such a sad truth of life. We CAN’T save everyone and there is so much darkness and evil in our world.
It’s interesting at the same time to see how much Migi changes. I enjoyed Migi as a sidekick/other main character and seeing him develop a softer side, which was the total opposite of what he shows in the beginning.
On a lighter side, the show also adds some elements of comedy involving Migi and Shinchi’s relationship. Migi’s particular curiosity leads him to “research” on human sexuality which creates hilariously memorable moments. By presenting such events, it also shows that not all parasites are simply absent-minded for their lust to consume and kill.
While the transition of each episode remains mainly strong, there are some minor changes between the manga and this adaptation. Sadly, both the manga and anime have plot holes that are seemingly never answered. None of which destroys the content of the story but some of it seems a bit odd such as the technology and Shinchi’s original appearance before his blow-up transformation.
But there is some other good things in Parasyte!
There is still some romance in the show that I particularly like. I don’t think I can watch almost any if there isn’t a love interest and Parasyte doesn’t disappoint with that.
His relationships with Murano often have shifting drifts because of the dangers he realizes she may be in if she gets too close to him. Classic and typical hero complex that shows up in anime, but it does add another layer to the show. But I do find it interesting and definitely ship them together.
Overall Parasyte was a great anime to watch. If you’re looking for something that’s out of your comfort zone or just looking for something new to watch, I would recommend this. I promise you that after the first episode, the cliffhangers will reel you in and possibly cause you to watch episode after episode until you’re done. It was good for an afternoon of binge-watching but I did have to put on a slice of life comedy anime afterward.

Both protagonists have a powerful being inside them that tries to take control of their bodies and a senior white-haired senpai. Both protagonists also fight to help others and don’t get me started on the bromance and rivalry. Both series also have a lovable, relatable, and supporting cast of characters that help the protagonist along.
6. Hunter x Hunter (2011)

The plot follows 12-year-old Gon Freecss, who takes part in a Hunter Exam which has several strange and difficult tests with the hope of finding his missing father. Similarity
Both series have unique use of powers, amazing world-building, lovable characters, and just the way it balances its more serious moments with lighthearted ones is great. Both series also have amazing visuals and a similar sense of adventure, with characters moving from one location to another.
5. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

Both series have a supernatural theme and both have elite groups that work in the shadows. Both also have great OSTs, characters, world-building, and stories.
4. Ranking of Kings

Similarity
Both series have a coming-of-age theme, with characters trying to become better. And though both have some amazing action, both still have heartwarming tear-jerking wholesome moments. Both protagonists are sacrificed at a young age for the betterment of others. Everyone sees both series protagonists as no good, but are quite capable. Both also see their main character befriending an otherworldly being.
3. One Piece

As a child, Monkey D. Luffy dreamed of becoming the King of the Pirates. Similarity
Both series have a lot to offer from supernatural powers, amazing fights scenes, well-developed and lovable characters, and voyages to new and exciting places. Both series have a similar vibe that just keeps you invested in seeing where the characters’ stories end.
2. My Hero Academia

But thanks to a chance encounter his journey to becoming the world’s strongest hero begins.
Similarity
Both series are shounen, having battles that are more tactically focused, with both being able to keep the audience on the edge of their seats, and having cool characters with ridiculous but creative powers.
1. Black Clover

Two orphan children, Asta and Yuno are left as babies near the doorstep of a church on the outside border of the Clover Kingdom. The story follows Asta mostly, a young boy who’s born without magical powers, while he tries to gain magical powers and the talent to control them. We watch him go from laughingstock to the literal savior of the kingdom.
Similarity
Black Clover, like Naruto, has a similar fantasy world full of magic or chakra. Both protagonists have a similar physical build, with both series characters being in a sort of military unit made to protect the people. Both series have themes of rivalry between friends, fan service, comedy, action, and surprisingly deep emotional moments.

After talking with a friend about good beginner anime shows, Blue Exorcist came up in our conversation. I realized that I haven’t done a review on it and thought it would be great to go ahead and start. When I put the show on to watch though, I realized it was much harder to watch it to do a review rather than just for fun. But isn’t that the whole point with ANIME BLOGGING?
Now, it could have been that I was running on less than 5 hours of sleep and started watching at 1 am but I digress…
Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist)…watch it or leave it?
I found more things to criticize in the first 5 episodes than I did when I first watched a few years ago. BUT…I do still love this anime and I DO recommend it for people just starting their anime journey. Just want to go ahead and point that out since this post will seem like I don’t like the show and I do!
Blue Exorcist Cliché’s Are Everywhere
If you like anime with demonic elements and conspiracies of the highest order (basically every anime) and kids with superpowers, then I highly recommend this series. It has a lot of elements that make every action/adventure anime likable. You have your typical carefree and dense main character, Rin Okumura, who is born with an affliction that is willing to put his life on the line for his family and friends despite having a tough childhood. He is commonly paired with his super-intelligent and logical twin brother, Yukio.
The rest of Rin’s friends are there for comic relief and moral support. Mephisto, who acts as Rin’s guardian, is always funny, carefree, witty, and resourceful. One of those aloof characters that the audience has a hard time figuring out his intentions. Is he a good guy or a bad guy? Of course, there’s a big-breasted supporter of Rin that cares for him deeply. Which is another cliché but anyway.
While it doesn’t entirely match the manga I fell in love with, I think the adaptation does the series justice and adheres to the different audiences that anime caters to.
As many people say, Blue Exorcist is heavily clichéd in many aspects so I might as well point them out first…this list was compiled by the fans on Reddit and I have to say that I agree with every single one of them!

which one of them took position as the protagonist’s rival(+1).
The group grew closer to the protagonist but become hostile more than ever when they learned of the protagonist’s secret(+1),
and so the protagonist must try to convince them 1 each at a time(+1).
They were very cliche, even when fleshed out. Some developed more than others, but nobody grew up too much. They all stayed their same old selves, with their same old goals and things. But they were entertaining somehow. The cliches are something that anime fans are either going to love or hate.
Maybe because I was watching with the intent of reviewing as I mentioned above, I found more things to criticize. When I do a review of something that I just watched for the first time, it tends to have more positives than negatives but I think this article might lean more towards the negative? This is conflicting since I did enjoy the show and recommend it to everyone.
One of my favorite episodes is actually when they find Kuro, who was Father Shiro Fujimoto’s former familiar. For one thing, Kuro is insanely cute and I think he deserves his own point, I think the episode shows that fighting and beating everything up isn’t always the answer. Sometimes you just need to share a drink, haha!

To say gamers were looking forward to Elden Ring would be a massive understatement. Though sadly for Google STADIA players they have been missing out on one of the best games of 2022.
The STADIA community has started a petition, pleading for FromSoftware and Google to port the game to the platform. Though the petition is not seeing much traction yet, I am hoping gamers, even non-stadians show solidarity by helping sign the petition. Though maybe not for everyone, cloud gaming can be a more affordable and easier entry level into gaming.

Miraculous Ladybug season 4 spoilers if you haven’t already seen it!
Okay, so I just finished watching season 4 (except for part two of Risk as it’s being released in 2 days at the time of writing this article) and I have a LOT of feelings regarding this. For the past 2 days, I’ve been in a weird fandom mood where my heart is broken and a ton of emotions. It was similar to when I watched Chat Blanc. I couldn’t watch any more for almost a week. One of the perks of being in a fandom, I think. I know that Adrien and Marinette are endgame but Luka Couffeine is such a strong and wonderful character. Sometimes I think he might be better for Marinette since he can bring calmness in her life while she’s stressed and the weight of so many responsibilities are on her shoulders (at 14!).
I love Adrien. He’s a pure sunshine child and also deserves happiness. But I think about how Chat Noir is who he truly wants to be and how he’s more active, spontaneous, and adventurous. While Marinette is also those things, I think she needs someone to help calm her down when she can’t handle all the stress she has in her life and when her anxiety makes her overthink everything.
The episode where Luka is so sad and says that Marinette is avoiding him since she knows he’s still in love with her…oh my heart. I cried. I wanted someone to hug him. Why can’t he just be happy? Marinette felt like a jerk because let’s be honest. Having pictures of your ex-crush when you are dating somebody shows that she doesn’t care about her relationship with Luka and she was with him cause he cared for her and she was trying to get over Adrien. A rebound is never the answer. I think Luka deserved better in that regard even though I think he and Marinette could be a great couple.
Why didn’t he tell her he knew and who does he end up with?
Also, I don’t know why he didn’t tell her that he knew she was Ladybug during Wishmaker. In my opinion, if he tells her, that will be a big relief for her since she won’t have to hide her secret. And I think that Luka would be understanding during their dates and they’ll just pick up where they left off. Is it because he thinks she’s in love with Adrien and just wants her to be happy?
There’s been speculation that he’ll end up with Zoe but I haven’t seen enough interaction to see that yet. They’re both creative so they’ll have that in common. Also, Chloe even said Luka was cute in the season 3 episode Miracle Queen. Though I don’t think it’ll be Chloe. Thomas Astruc has even said that some characters just don’t get a redemption arc when he replied to a fan asking about Chloe. So maybe it’ll be one of them?
Miraculous Ladybug Season 4: Gabriel Agreste
Okay and now on to the world’s biggest jerk in animated history. Okay, maybe not the BIGGEST but at least top 5. We’ve seen in Oblivio and now in season 4 that anytime Adrien finds out, his father also finds out and uses it to his advantage. Uses his SON! He’s the reason that they can’t find happiness. And I want someone to punch him in the face.
That man deserves no redemption arc. And I know I’m not the only one who thinks so. So many fans have mentioned this. The man’s neglected his son, he’s terrorized PARIS, and for what? Because he’s obsessed with his wife? No, he doesn’t love his son. He wouldn’t want him to die, but as we saw in Chat Blanc and Ephemeral if he has the option to emotionally manipulate the poor boy, he will. And Natalie has no problem with doing it as well.
Natalie isn’t the best either…
I’m not sure about her. She’s in love with Gabriel Agreste but why? Doesn’t she know that Gabriel will choose Emilie over her if they do recover her? I know people do crazy things for love but they both take it too far.
Finally, we have the most ridiculous part of all. He’s willing to single-handedly KILL and TERRORIZE just to reach his goal. So many times people were turned to statues or killed in some way or almost killed. Sure Ladybug’s cure could fix it but that’s not Gabriel’s goal. He doesn’t WANT Ladybug to fix everything after she uses her Lucky Charm. Would the akumitized people stay the same or would he use them in different ways?
Not to mention, the wish to bring back his wife literally ends and rewrites the universe. I kinda wish Noroo would explain this to him but maybe he has tried and couldn’t get a word in, or possibly he doesn’t know? Though I don’t think it’s the latter since all the rest of the kwami’s knew about it. It seems likely that if history rewrites itself, Gabriel Agreste will die as well. When will the time period restart? To the beginning? The start of Gabriel’s life since he would be the one to make the wish? There are several possibilities and if that happens, life possibly won’t turn out the same, and he and Emilie might not even meet or have Adrien.
Final Thoughts on Miraculous Ladybug Season 4
What are your thoughts on Miraculous Ladybug season 4? There’s been up to 7 seasons with episodes to be announced but no official dates for them. I’m curious and excited about the other seasons, but also a little hesitant to see our lovelies get hurt. I still hate Gabriel Agreste and hope someone does punch him in the face. And I want everyone to get a happy ending. Except for Gabriel. He can rot in jail while Adrien does better without him. Also, another thought. Do you think the writers will confirm WHY Adrien and Marinette are meant for each other? They’re both written very well but in reality, anyone can be meant for someone. It takes so much work for any relationship. But maybe because it’s not reality that they have just one person who is THEIR person and that’s it. No deeper meaning.

With the second season of Demon Slayer just finishing, it reminded me of how high-quality animation can enhance your experience of watching anime and only serves to increase the appeal of the show. There is no doubt in my mind that if Demon Slayer did not have the amazing animation it did from ufotable, then it probably would not have been as popular.
That is not a critique of the show itself, but more so just an understanding of how it came to be such a successful series. However, not every anime gets to follow this trend. Redline is one of these exceptions.

The film’s plot is pretty basic: it follows JP, a racer who sets out to compete in the Redline, the most popular race in the galaxy which only occurs every five years.

What did I think?
Within Redline are various subplots including a romance with one of the other racers competing against JP, Sonoshee Mclaren. Now, even though this sounds basic and cliched, then this is only because the point of the film was not to create a thematically deep, story-driven movie.
Even though the plot is simple, it complements the style that Madhouse (the animators) and the director, Takeshi Koite (in what was his directorial debut) were going for, which is one of constant action and adrenaline. Each scene bristles with electricity and the vibrant colors all come together during the racing scenes to create a unique animation experience.
STORY
The fact that JP and Sonoshee are one of the few humans to even have importance to the story represents Redline’s emphasis on style over substance. But it is this approach that makes Redline so charming: it offers maximum entertainment in the form of an animation spectacle.
However, I will add that I do have some issues concerning the structure of the film, in that the part of the film between the first race and the ultimate Redline race did feel slow at times, which affects the approach the film is going for. While seeing the characters interact with each other is fun, the prelude before the Redline does overextend its welcome, as it comprises a large bulk of the film’s runtime.
ANIMATION
Seeing as how Redline took Madhouse and their team over 7 years to make, which included 100,000 hand-drawn images, it does not surprise me that the animation is simply amazing. The creativity of every faucet of detail when it comes to Redline shines through its vibrant colors and unique character designs. Not just the characters, but the vehicles that each racer drives have their own quirks to them, and were drawn impressively by the animators. Even the characters’ movements, in particular the hand movements of the characters switching gears, are so elegant and showcases just why this film’s animation is a marvel to behold.
CHARACTERS
Just as the plot fits into the film’s wild nature, so do the characters’ over-the-top personalities add to its chaos. While they are not completely shallow, the people in Redline do not serve a purpose beyond serving as pieces of entertainment, to enthrall us with the crazy universe they inhabit.
SOUND
To add to this further, the music’s use of electric beats fits in perfectly with the intensity of the racing scenes, which makes it even more exciting to watch.
Favourite moment?
The film probably has one of my favorite opening sequences in any animated film, ever. The first ten minutes pretty much sum up what the film does best: a high-paced adrenaline-filled race that was beautifully animated. Seeing the characters control their cars and the smoothness of their movements is so fun to watch.
Least favourite moment?
Probably the entire middle part of the film. Even though the character development of JP is interesting to see, as I said before I feel as if the deficiencies of the narrative become exposed here.

What did I learn?
Now, ever since its release in 2009, the home releases of the film have made it much more noticed within the anime community and established itself somewhat as a cult film. However, despite this, the film is still not known by the majority of anime fans that I interact with on the internet. Even on MyAnimeList, the film is only 569th in popularity, way below some of the other great Anime films of the 21st century, such as Howls Moving Castle and Your name.
The reasons for this are complicated, but the way I see it, it is hard to continuously promote a film for years without the interest of it slowly waning. Which led to the film performing poorly at the box office, grossing only $8.2 million.
Would I watch more?
Overall, this film is one that I believe every anime fan should watch. If what you want to watch is a human drama filled with emotion and character development, then please seek that elsewhere. However, if you want an action-packed ride with some of the greatest animation you’ll ever see, then look no further: Redline is for you.
